Rut 6.36 – 6.40

6-36 The Battle of Chamkaur Begins

Whoever went close to the Qila was injured from a bullet.  In one instant, many fell all at once, getting shot by the Singhs.  Guru ji said to all: “listen oh Singhs of mine, when Saam (surrendering), Daam (paying) and Bhed (causing divisions) don’t work; that is the time to take weapons into your hands.  That is the time before us now.  We can’t ignore it.  First kill the enemy with arrows and bullets.  If the enemy comes close, take out your swords and cut them to pieces.  Swing your swords as warriors.”  The Singhs heard this and became inspired to fight.  They released arrows like flying snakes.  The great warriors ate the arrows and died.  The Singhs did not load gunpowder or bullets.  They just kept firing the rifles.  The bullets were fired and sounded like popcorn popping.  Many bullets fired at once from both sides.  The Pathaans and Mughals fell from their horses.  They laid down like drunkards.  Some had their heads blasted and some lost their limbs.  They charged shouting and their yell was left in half their words.  They were hit with arrows that went through their bodies.  The regiments came and fell.  They couldn’t move back.

Bheem Chand and the other Rajas called the Jaats of the village to them.  They asked: “how many Singhs are in there?  So many bullets are being fired.  You are saying there’s 40 or 50 but they have killed so many already.  Tell us the truth.”  The Jaats said: “we haven’t counted as we were scared for our own lives.  They can’t be more than 50 though.  Some were injured.  They looked like they were going to die soon; they had lost so much blood.  You have so many soldiers.  Those 50 Singhs can’t survive.  You can kill them now.  You have millions.  If you all throw one fist of dirt on to the Qila, everyone including the Guru will be buried under soil.  You don’t need to even fight.  You can kill them now.  How can 1 Ratti compare to the Sumer Mountain?”  Bheem Chand heard this and went to the Khwaja Mohammed and said: “why are you delaying this?  Hurry and attack.  Charge and kill them.  There are only 40 Singhs inside.  Go inside the Qila.  We can arrest the Guru alive.  The Singhs with him can all be killed.  40 Singhs can be killed.  We might lose 40 men, at the most.  Let’s just go inside.  Let’s attack at once.”  The Khwaja called Sooba Wajeed Khan and Sooba Zabbardast Khan.  He said to all: “in Anandpur we sat for 7 months.  Are we doing the same here?  We spent so long there.  It seems like we will do the same thing here.  Are you watching a drama?  We aren’t attending a wedding.  There are only 40 Singhs in there who are hungry.  We have hundreds of thousands of men.”  The Soobas heard the Khwaja and went to their armies.  They shouted out loud: “what are you looking at?  Charge by using the strength of your arms!”  The officers said to their soldiers: “go on ahead!  Why are you standing?  Charge all 4 sides!  Charge at once and go inside!  Catch the Guru!”  The army came like the Devatas and Daynts churning the ocean.  The Qila was radiant like the Mandrachal Parvat in the middle.

Guru Sri Gobind Singh ji was radiant in the Atari.  He was in the Bir Asan with one knee on the ground.  When the enemy came close, thousands of rifles fired.  They came close to the Ghari.  They set up ladders to climb.  The Singhs got angry and said: “whoever comes up, slice their heads with your swords!  They are coming up.”  The bullets and arrows of the Singhs never missed.  The enemy was cut by the swords of the Singhs.  If the Pugris of the enemy came up a little, their heads would roll.  Their feet were up and their body was downwards.  The walls were filled with blood.  One fell and would fall on two more.  Many fell out of fear.  The enemy charged but the Khalsa tolerated it.  Many Khans died.  Many fell from the walls of the Qila.  There was a window in the Atari.  Guru ji was shooting arrows from the window and killing many men.  Guru ji sat in Bir Asan and fired with his fierce bow.  The window was really small.  The wall was knee high.  Guru ji’s body was exposed to the enemy.  His Kalgi with diamonds and gems could be seen shining from far away.  They all saw him.  He spread all his arrows on the ground.  He released them one after the other.  He quickly loaded another arrow and pulled it to his ear to shoot.  He shot one after the other.  His one arrow went through 1, 2 , 3 and then a fourth to go ahead to hit a 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th.  He killed up to 10 with one arrow.  Ten would fall like huge minarets falling on to the ground after an earthquake.  Lakhs of bullets were fired at Guru ji.  They aimed at Guru ji.

The charge came one after the other, the soldiers caused chaos.  The ones that climbed the wall, they fell down.  They got tired.  They died and couldn’t get in.  Some got injured and some died with their heads bursting.  The spears with pompoms tied on them, that couldn’t break, pierced the bodies.  The heads were pierced.  The warriors with big moustaches came with open swords.  They held shields in their hands while trying to climb the wall.  Guru ji pierced their shields to kill them with his arrows.  The battle was fierce.  The blood flowed like rivers from their bodies.  Some of their eyes were left open as they died.  It looked like they were sill alive.  The blood coloured the ground red.  The climbers fell down, being killed, like acrobats.  They fell upside down.  They were drenched in their own blood.  It was like they were playing Holi.  They feared death as they climbed the walls.  Some hid at the foot of the wall.  Some ran away seeing the battle and death.  Some shouted while challenging others.  They used their shields to protect themselves.  Their hands and feet were cut.  Thousands of Nagaras sounded all around.  Thousands of conches and Ransinghas played.  There was thick and dense smoke all around.  It seemed as though the dust settled in the air.  They looked like black clouds.  The Kaljognis danced while clapping.  Narad’s wife, Kalah, came with joy.  Kaali Mata drank blood in here skull cup.  The 52 Birs came to eat the flesh.  The bhoots and prayts were celebrating, feasting on the flesh of warriors.  They put the blood on their faces and drank it.  They ate the flesh and burped.  It was as though Krishan ji brought his sons to face the armies of Jarasandh.  It was like Jarasandh brought his army and surrounded Krishan ji all around.  The sinners were angry and shouting to fight.  Thousands were killed by the bullets of the Khalsa.  They took out their shining Teghas.  They looked scary.  Some of the enemy lost their heads and some lost their arms.  They climbed on ladders but fell after being killed.  Like a Tarkhan cutting wood with a saw, that’s how the Singhs sliced them.  It was like the stars surrounded the moon.  The swords shined like lightening and met the stars.  The warriors shouted and charged each other.  They met with swords.  They came with anger.  The generals scolded their soldiers to send them forward.  They came with swords.  They ran and looked to climb the wall.  They were confused how to climb the small wall.  They came close and would fall to their death.  They got hit with bullets and arrows.  Their lives lost.  Laying on the ground as they die.  A lot of blood flowed.  The ground going red.  The enemy got scared.  They looked around and hid.  Their hearts pounded.  They saw their comrades dead.  They moved back.  When moving back, they got pushed by their generals: “why are you moving back?  Why are you staining the honour of your family?  Climb the Qila.  Use the strength of your arms.  They are few in numbers.  You are so many.”  The enemy heard this and gathered their courage.  They fired their rifles shouting: “kill them!”  The Khandas cut.  They laid on the ground.  They fought and then got scared, hiding by the walls.  The soldiers came forward like black clouds.  The rain of arrows hit them.  They tested the strength of their chests.  The battle was fierce.  The blood flowed.  The ground was all mud.  It was chaos.  How can I describe this battle?  It was still morning on the 8th of Poh.  Thousands died.  The bodies piled upon bodies.  Many regiments were destroyed.  Sri Satguru ji fired many arrows.  The bow pull was 9 Tonka.  He rained many arrows upon the enemy.  He was in the small window of the Atari.  He showered sharp arrows, killing thousands of the enemy.  The Singhs fired bullets without loading gunpowder or bullets.  Many Paleetas were lit and fired.  Thousands were killed like this.  This wasn’t the first time the Guru did such a miracle.  Guru Hargobind Sahib ji commanded the Sikhs to make a cannon made of a tree trunk of Tamarind.  This was during the Battle of Amritsar at Logarh.  Guru Gobind Singh ji’s word become reality right away.  The 40 Singhs fought with faith.  The enemy was shocked that 40 Singhs had caused them so much damage.  The Singhs were filled with courage.  The Turks could not get in.  The Qila was surrounded with dead bodies.  There was a lot of blood around the Qila.  Rivers of blood flowed.

6-37 Coming out of the Chamkaur Ghari and Fighting

The enemy kept coming towards the main gate but Bhai Kotha Singh ji and Bhai Madan Singh ji killed them with bullets.  They both aimed and fired their rifles.  The army was in the thousands, they aimed and fired.  Some were hit and some had their heads blasted.  The Singhs said: “Prabhoo ji, give us permission to go outside and fight the enemy.  We will use our swords to cut the enemy.”  Guru ji laughed and said: “go into the enemy lines and slice their heads!”  By Guru ji’s permission the two Singhs opened the door, came out and pounced on the enemy like cheetahs.  To impress Guru ji, they blocked the strikes on their shields and killed many.  Satguru ji gave them powers to fight.  The Singhs killed many enemies with one strike.  Their Kirpans were drenched with blood.  Seeing this, the enemy lost their courage.  The elephant could not keep courage in front of the lion.  The Singhs jumped and cut the enemy, coming close to them.  The strong and big enemy saw these Singhs as a problem for them and thousands aimed their guns at them.  They couldn’t respond to their swords and so they had to fire their guns.  The Singhs were hit with 20 or 30 bullets.  Their whole bodies were pierced with bullets.  They chanted: “Guru, Guru,” as they attained Shaheedi, going to Dev Lok.  Guru ji praised their battle from the Atari.

After Bhai Kotha Singh ji and Bhai Madan Singh ji’s Shaheedi, more Singhs got inspired to go out.  Bhai Kazan Singh ji, Bhai Dhaan Singh ji and Bhai Dyaan Singh ji got ready to go.  Guru ji said: “go and kill the Malaich.”  They went to the main gate and came out.  The enemy wanted to break the door but the 3 Singhs pounced like lions.  They had heavy saangs and sailays.  They used great power to string the enemy onto their spears.  They were like injured, dangerous lions.  They were the death for the enemy.  The big Mughals lost their courage and ran back.  The Singhs were angry.  Their faces and eyes were red.  They shouted Jaikaras.  Many came at them with their swords but the Singhs jumped to make the strikes misses.  They struck their swords to cut the enemy’s heads.  They moved in the battlefield like a crocodile in the water.  By Guru ji’s radiance they killed many.  For many months they had been hungry in Anandpur.  Their muscles and flesh had dried up.  They built up a huge tolerance for pain.  The flesh they had was being emptied of their blood.  They were angry from the months of hunger.  Like a lion within the deer, that’s how the Singhs were.  They moved by the compassion of the Compassionate One.  Thousands of rifles fired upon them to pierce their bodies.  They still kept swinging their swords.  These 3 Singhs attained Shaheedi as well.  A total of 5 had died.  The Singhs inside the Ghari said: “we will kill the enemy like them too!”

Bhai Mohkam Singh ji, the patient one, the one that took and gave Amrit, took leave from Guru ji: “I will go alone!  See my fight of your blessing.”   The complete Guru said: “one Singh Warrior fights Lakhs.  Make this statement true.  Kill these dishonest people and make them fall.”  Bhai Mokham Singh ji heard this and came outside.  Metal clashed upon metal.  The army of the Malaich was like a huge ocean.  Bhai Mokham Singh ji was like a crocodile.  He spun around, here and there, killing the enemy.  He caused chaos where he went.  The charges were like waves and the Singh was like a crocodile with a sword.  Whover came in front of him, he sliced them in two.  The great Singh was in great anger.  His eyes were red.  Nobody could come in front of him.  The enemy threw Sailas and Saangs at him.  They threw Tomars but the Singh was too fast.  He jumped like a cheetah and cut many with his sword.  He ran too fast, here and there.  The enemy moved back when the Singh came.  He was fearless and strong.  His face was red.  His moustache and beard were up.  His beard was flying in the wind.  He was the scary form of the Jumm.  He was the Jumm with the sword of Jumms.  Whoever he hit, that person died.  He didn’t let anyone breath.  He killed many and was injured.  A lot of blood flowed from his body.  He was happy to see the blood flow from his body.  He was patient.  He was drenched in blood.  He saw his body as pure.  The warrior moved fast in the enemy army.  The warrior of the Guru churned the warrior army.  Khwaja Mardood Ali (Mehmood or Mohammed Ali) said to his people: “where did you lose your strength?  One Singh you Lakhs can’t handle.  Kill him.”  The enemy all fired at Bhai Mokham Singh ji.  Thousands of rifles fired.  Bhai Mokham Singh ji was hit with 30 bullets.  All his limbs were pierced and broken.  He died standing.  He fell forward.  He became a Shaheed.  He did not move back.  He was filled with Bir Rass.  Guru ji was really happy with his Singh.  He praised his Singh, Bhai Mokham Singh ji.  It was a fierce battle.  A lot of metal flew.  Bhai Mokham Singh ji went to Svarag.

Bhai Himmat Singh ji and Bhai Sahib ji saw the force of the enemy.  They took permission to fight: “the enemy has come to the door.  Let us go.”  They came to the door and jumped on the deer like cheetahs.  They both had swords and shields.  They were like bloody tusks of elephants.  They pushed many Pathans and Mughals.  They looked like they were playing Holi.  The officers of the enemy were shocked: “Ya Khuddah!  Where did they get so much strength?  They are fighting Lakhs!  They don’t fear death.  They are shaking the water like two crocodiles.”  The Singhs sliced many limbs of the enemy.  They blocked the enemy with their shields.  They were great warriors.  Their feet did not touch the ground.  They moved like carefree elephants.  They piled the enemy bodies on the ground.  They cut many heads and limbs.  The heads looked like big balls.  The limbs were like sticks.  The two brave warriors fought the huge army.  Till they had Pranas, they fought.  They killed many enemies.  They became Shaheeds.  The Apsaras came to take them to Svarag.  They wanted to take the Singhs on great vessels.  The Singhs wanted to fight more.  They were not satiated with battle.  They left the vessels to continue fighting.  They killed more.  There were many Nagaras, Ransinghs, Shehnais and Dhundhabs playing.  This made the warriors go into Bir Rass.  The Singhs said: “Guru ji gave us an awesome opportunity to fight!  Let’s go out and fight.  We can make our lives a success in front of Guru ji.  Take your swords out and kill the enemy.  A half hour has so much profit and advantages.  The Lakhs of years of Tapp is equal to a half hour of fighting the battle.  Donating a lot of land, doing Asmedh Yagnas is nothing compared to fighting battle in front of Guru ji.  Their mothers and fathers are Dhan.  Their life is Dhan whoever dies on the battlefield in front of Guru ji.”  Seeing this great opportunity, they took the permission from Guru ji and went to fight.  The Singhs went out to kill 10 or 20.  They left their Pranas and went to Sach Khand.  Both sides rained bullets.  Thousands were killed.

The 5 Mukta Birs: Bhai Ishar Singh ji, Bhai Deva Singh ji, Bhai Ram Singh ji, Bhai Tahil Singh ji and Bhai Fateh Singh ji came out like hawks on sparrows.  The 5 Birs went together.  They came into the ocean of the enemy army like carefree elephants.  The elephants played with the ocean waves.  The 5 Muktas caused chaos.  Their swords shined like lightening.  Their fists were drenched in blood and stuck into their hilts.  The fearless warriors advanced forward and killed many.  They were filled with Bir Rass.  They were like the 5 mighty Pandavs fighting the army of the Kauravs.  They killed many Turks.  They made them suffer.  Many suffered, many died.  They caused chaos.  They were eventually surrounded.  They had killed hundreds and laid them on the ground.  They showed their Master how they fought.  They had their limbs cut from each inch.  They did not move their feet back.  They fought ahead and gave their Pranas.  The Turks were amazed to see the Singhs fight.

6-38 The Battle of Chamkaur Continues

The battle was fierce.  The bows and rifles made really loud noises.  The arrows flew like black cobras.  The bullets hit the warriors and killed them.  On the one side you had 40 hungry Singhs.  On the other you had 1,000,000 soldiers who were fresh, challenging the tired Singhs.  Never such a battle was ever fought, not in the past nor ever in the future.  Astonished, the Devatas all gathered in the sky to watch this amazing battle.  Inder spoke to all his Devatas: “how can such a battle be fought in Kaliyuga?  How can they fight with so much courage in Kaliyuga?  Guru ji is filled with powers but does not show them.  This is an impossible thing to do.  This is surprising.  Let’s all go to see this battle.”  The Devatas came on their vessels to Chamkaur.  Where the sky was filled with dust from the army’s doings, the Devatas came.  They first saw Satguru ji’s Kalgi in the Atari.  The Devis and Devatas all folded their hands and bowed their heads towards Satguru ji in the Atari.  They watched the fierce battle raging on.  The rifles were fired.  The arrows were released.  The swords were being swung. They clashed with the metal.  There was a charge upon charge.  The blood on the clothes looked like flowers blooming in the garden.  Many Gandarvs, Kinnars, Jachs and Sidhs came into the sky to watch.  Because of all these Heavenly beings being present, the sky became bright.  There was a noticeable light in the sky.  They all showered Guru ji with flowers.  Many vultures and scavengers flew in the sky.  The warriors fought with Bir Rass.  Their minds were pure because they were focused on the battle, forgetting the world and its material things.  There is nothing more that requires more focus than battle.  One slip and death would meet you ahead.  The crows cawed; the vultures shrieked as they ate the flesh.  The ground was red with blood as it flowed like a red river.  It looked like Dharti was wearing a red Chunni.

Bhai Daya Singh ji and the other Singhs came to Guru ji and folded their hands.  They said: “Maharaj, please leave the battle.  Go from this place.  The Singhs have all become Shaheeds after killing many of the enemy.  They fought with courage and attained Shaheedi.  Everyone wishes that you survive.  Leave this battle and go to the sides.”  Guru ji heard the Singhs and laughed out loud.  The Deen Dayal laughed and said: “watch the drama of the Kharag Khet (Akaal Purakh).  Quickly destroy the dishonest ones, (don’t worry about me).”  Hearing Guru ji, the Singhs came outside of the main door.  They took their swords and attacked.  Bhai Mohar Singh ji and Bhai Keerat Singh ji along with Bhai Anand Singh ji fought with strength.  Bhai Lal Singh ji, Bhai Kesra Singh ji and Bhai Amolak Singh ji came out who had all 4 Padarthas from Guru ji.  They all thought to themselves: “this is a rare opportunity to fight in front of Guru ji.  If one lives for 1,000 years, they still can’t get this chance.”  The Singhs were charged from ahead who came to break the door.  The 6 Singhs swung their swords to kill the enemy.  They pushed back the enemy.  They attacked like lions and killed the enemy to pieces.  Whoever came in front of them, they did not live.  It was as though their mothers never had them.  What can I say about the battle these Singhs fought?  It cannot be described.  The Singhs fought like lions, shouting Jaikaras.  They killed hundreds.  They were surrounded by Lakhs.  The enemy was afraid of them.  The Singhs killed many.  They yelled and sliced the enemy.  They showed Guru ji their skills.  They were injured and bleeding heavily.  The drops of blood were done.  They were hit with Sailas, Saangs, Tomars, arrows and swords.  They eventually left their bodies and attained Shaheedi.  Their love was awake.  They were great warriors who wanted to be Shaheeds.  They were drenched in Bir Rass.  They wanted to kill the enemy.  They killed many.  The enemy was scared.  The Singhs died while loving the battle.  Sri Guru ji released many arrows from the Atari.  Whoever came in front of him, they were killed.

Nahar Khan, the brother of Navab Sher Mohammed Khan of Malerkotla, killed the 6 Singhs and advanced.  He showed his skills and ran close to the Ghari.  He wanted to climb the Ghari and go inside to Guru ji.  He wanted to show himself as the most skilled warrior.  Sri Guru ji noticed Nahar Khan and mounted a sharp arrow onto his bow.  Nahar Khan made his sword dance without its scabbard.  In his other hand he had a shield.  He was climbing the ladder and climbed one wall.  He ran towards Guru ji.  Guru ji released an arrow and pierced Nahar Khan’s chest.  The arrow passed through him, clean.  It flew like a snake going into its burrow.  You couldn’t see the arrow anymore.  The arrow was sharp that hit Nahar Khan.  Nahar Khan fell backwards.  His feet up and his head down.  His sword shook in his hand.  The arrow went into the ground.  It was like a strong wind that uprooted a huge tree.  The Mughals and Pathaans saw Nahar Khan fall.  They got scared and stopped in their tracks.  Khwaja Mardood hid behind the wall, seeing Nahar Khan fall.  He didn’t move from there.  He hid in the water outlet.  The other warriors were shocked to see their big general die.  It was just with one arrow.  Guru ji never missed.  The Turks fired from far away.  They didn’t move a step forward.  Seeing Khwaja Mardood hiding and Nahar Khan dying, Ghairat Khan’s courage awoke.  He ran up like Nahar Khan.  Sri Guru ji saw him coming up.  Guru ji loaded an arrow and pulled it.  He released it, hitting Ghairat Khan’s chest.  He fell, tumbling down.  Seeing the 2 Sardars die, nobody wanted to come up the wall anymore.  They hid like cowards.  They didn’t want to look at Guru ji, forget coming into the field.  They looked around and tried to move back.

Bullets and arrows flew.  Guru ji released many arrows, killing 10 with one arrow.  Guru ji killed thousands; making many run away.  Many Singhs had become Shaheeds, showing their skills as brave men.  Only a few Singhs remained who released arrows.  They fought with the enemy.  They fired rifles, killing the enemy.  They made many lay on the ground, ripping their bodies.  The enemy charged, the big warriors.  They lost their lives by the bullets of the Singhs.

The Umraavs got together and decided: “let’s do one great charge.  Jump into the fort and go inside.  How can they fight Lakhs?  Let’s catch Guru Gobind Singh ji today.  Use your strength and end this war today.  This is the only chance we have.  Finish the war.  Let’s go to the Shah and receive the rewards.  Let’s be happy.”  They all charged from all sides, yelling their Jaikaras.  It was a lot of chaos.  The horses charged.  Lakhs came yelling.  Rifles fired from both sides.  The river of blood flowed, making mud on the ground.  The enemy fell, injured.  They suffered and waiting for their death.  Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji looked from above.  He was stopping the enemy and made their families sad (from them dying).  He was like a machine, releasing many arrows, one after the other.  Whoever came in front of him, they died.  The bodies piled.  Bodies were upon other bodies.  Horses and men were piled up.  It was like fountains from the mountains, the blood flowing from the bodies piled up.  The warriors were hit with arrows.  They were pushed back.  They hid, finding cover.  They were scared.  They had no will to fight.  Their egos, destroyed.  They were sure that it was impossible to catch the Guru.  They saw the amazing battle.  Thousands were killed.  The dead were in piles.  They fought in small feats.  The killing was intense.  Only 40 Singhs, the enemy had to surround.  They were anxious with hunger.  The Turks gathered and went to the Khwaja.  The Paharis came too.  In this time, more Singhs came out the front door with anger.  They released arrows.  They came on their horses.  The enemy got scared.  Wherever the Singhs went, they shot their rifles.  The enemy tried to go up the wall.  The Singhs went to the ladders and took their swords out.  They were focused.  They aimed at the enemy that ran towards them.  The Singhs were not scared.  The Turks charged hard.  It was chaos.  They fought with swords and shields.  Many limbs were cut.  Many Turks and Paharis fell.  They were drenched in blood.  Whoever came forward, they were moved back by the Singhs.  They didn’t come forward, showing their backs.  They came with sailays, spears and swords.  They aimed their rifles at the Singhs.  They fought from the back.  They didn’t come forward.  The Singhs were radiant.  The enemy saw the way the Singhs fought.  In this way, the Singhs came out to fight, leaving the Ghari.  The waged a fierce battle.  They killed many Turks.  The Singhs attained Shaheedi.  Half of the Singhs became Shaheeds out of 40.  Half were with Guru ji still.  The sons of Guru ji were drenched with Bir Rass and wanted to go to battle.  They wanted permission from their Father Guru to go to battle.

6-39 Baba Ajeet Singh ji goes to Battle

Sri Baba Ajeet Singh ji, the great warrior, saw the battle.  The strong son of the Guru came to his father to ask for his permission to go to battle.  The Sahibzada thought to himself: “I want to kill the Turks.  I don’t want to stay inside.  I want to go out and fight without stopping.”  The patient, chaste, Jitindriya, Sudheer warrior came in front of his father.  The son of the Guru bowed to his father.  He folded his hands and looked at his father.  Guru ji looked at his son and said: “what is your desire?  Tell me the truth.”  The brave warrior spoke with courage: “the tradition of our family; with love in my heart; now is a great time that I see, Prabhoo.  I wish to follow my Dharma.  Please say from your mouth.  The Turks are attacking, charging away.  I wish to stop them in the battlefield.”  Guru ji was happy to hear this.  He said: “fight the Turks and kill them!  You will achieve the highest status, making me very happy.  You will be praised.  Kill the enemy.  Take some Singhs with you and fight a great battle.  The Dharma of the Kshatriyas has always been the same since Sanatan (ancient times).  Abhimanyu was your age when he fought.  The whole world sings his praises.  Go and fight face on.  Kill them and give your own life.  Don’t show your back.  You will receive the highest status in Parlok.  On the earth you will be praised forever.”  The strong Ajeet Singh ji was more than 6 feet tall.  He had sharp arrows in his quiver.  His sword was fastened.  It had a golden hilt.  He had a fierce and solid bow.  His weapons were big.  He had a Khanjar, Bogda and Katar in his Kumerkassa.  He did Parkarmas of his father and bowed to him.  He went to battle with bliss.  Guru ji was really happy.  The Sahibzada went to the main gate like a fearless lion.  5 Singhs went with him.  Bhai Aalam Singh ji had all his weapons fastened.  He was from the Rajput caste.  He was the special personal attendant of Satguru ji.  He never slept in his life.  He had won his sleep.  He stayed with Guru ji all the time.  He stood by the foot of Guru ji’s bed as he would sleep every night, carrying a rifle; keeping guard.  He did Guru ji’s Darshan all the time.  Guru ji would have many deep or comical conversations with him.  Guru ji called Bhai Aalam Singh ji for every little thing, saying his name hundreds of times a day: “Aalam Singh, eat this; Aalam Singh bring me water.”  He took permission from Guru ji to fight along Sahibzada Ajeet Singh ji.  He had his last Fateh with Guru ji today.  He left with the son of Guru ji.  Bliss was on his face.  Another great warrior, Bhai Jawahar Singh ji went with them in bliss as well.  Lakhs of enemy came forwards.  Bhai Jawahar Singh ji came forward.  He fired many bullets.  Guru ji released arrows from the top, killing 10 with one arrow.  The Singhs shouted the Fateh and fought without fear.  Bhai Dhyan Singh ji, who always focused on Guru ji’s feet, he attacked the enemy.  He caused chaos along with the son of the Guru.  The enemy was surprised to see this.  Bhai Sukha Singh ji came with his rifle without bullets and gunpowder.  He kept pulling the trigger.  He killed many enemies.  He fired and pierced the enemy without delay.  Bhai Bir Singh ji came.  He showed courage.  He killed many enemies.  He crushed their egos.  The son of the Guru came with anger.  He killed the sinners.  He released many arrows and crushed their egos.  The warriors fell with sprouts of blood pouring from their bodies.  He shot sharp arrows.  The enemy was afraid.  Their helmets, chainmail and shield were ripped by the Guru’s son.  The lives of great warriors were destroyed.  They fell to the ground.

Rudra brought his 11 forms along with 52 Birs and 64 Kaljognis.  The Bhoots and Prayts danced and laughed while eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the warriors.  The injured suffered.  The Bhoot and Vetals danced while clapping.  The crows and vultures ate the flesh.  They burped, satiated.  The Dains came and laughed.  They drank the blood.  Sri Baba Ajeet Singh ji released arrows with patience.  The Devatas came to watch the battle of Baba Ajeet Singh ji.  He killed both mounted and foot soldiers.  Many fell like huge minarets.  The scene was scary.  The bodies piled up.  The rivers of blood flowed.  The bodies looked like mountains.  The Turks said: “Ya Khuddah, thousands of our men have died.  Many are being killed by a few Singhs.  We have fought for many hours.  These Singhs are hard to catch and kill.  They come in small groups but kill many.”  The officers talked about how Guru ji was so fearless.  The Singhs destroyed the ego of the warriors.

Zerdast saw his own faults and got angry.  He saw Baba Ajeet Singh ji destroying his army.  Zerdast scolded his men and charged ahead.  They fired many bullets and arrows.  The Singhs were hit.  They were drenched with blood.  They looked like flowers.  They fought, hand to hand.  Many fell.  The enemy’s heads ripped open.  The enemy moved back in fear.  The Singhs would go to the other side quickly.  Guru ji released many arrows.  He killed many enemies, making them suffer to death.  The Singhs had the coverage of Guru ji’s arrows.  The Turks would aim but the Singhs were too smart for them.  They dodged the bullets.  In the battle, the Singhs moved around quickly.  Everyone was surprised to see the battle.  Baba ji’s arrows finished.  He was not calm though.  He was angry at the deception of the Turks.  He had fired all of his arrows.  He held a Saang and ripped anyone that came to him.  He piled the enemy on the spear like Kebabs on a Shish.  He killed many and ripped their chests.  He sliced their heads.  He caused chaos.  Many fell to the ground.  The Turks came around and surrounded Baba Ajeet Singh ji.  They yelled: “kill him!”  The Turks fired thousands of weapons.  The Singhs saw this.  Guru ji fired arrows.  Bhai Aalam Singh ji’s horse died.  He fought with his sword and shield.  He jumped really high.  It was like lions walking around many elephants.  The son of the Guru used his spear to kill many, like lightening in between the black clouds.  His Kalgi shined.  He killed many with his spear.  When he took out his spear, he would kill a second.  He looked like Abhimanyu breaching the Chakarvyu of the Kauravs in the Mahabharat battle.  He was surrounded after killing hundreds.  Baba Ajeet Singh ji stabbed a soldier who wore chainmail on his whole body.  He ripped his chainmail and the spear came out the other end.  When he pulled the spear out, the head broke off.  He threw the rod and took out his sword.  The spear was like the cobra that bit hundreds and stayed in its burrow.  Many Turks stabbed Baba ji with their spears.  His body was full of worlds. His body was drenched with blood.  It looked like he was wearing red clothes.  Baba Ajeet Singh ji saw his blood and said: “I have attained the Dharma of Kshatriyas today.”  He took out his sword and cut the enemy.  He killed hundreds.  The 5 Singhs killed hundreds and achieved Shaheedi.  Baba Ajeet Singh ji was alone.  He kept killing the enemy.  He was very angry.  The Turks that died were laying like they were sleeping on a red blanket.  How much can I write?  This Granth will get bigger.  The strength Baba Ajeet Singh ji showed, nobody could kill him.  He advanced like a cheetah, scaring the enemy.  They all tried killing him in many ways.  He was too fast for them.  He was faster than the bullets.  He killed many with his sword.  His sword broke.  He then took out his Kataar.  Anwar Khan sat in a palanquin on an elephant.  He saw this battle.  He said to his men: “catch the son alive!”  Baba ji heard this and ran to Navab Anwar Khan with great speed.  He jumped onto the palanquin by setting his elbows up on the sides and pulled jumped up.  He came in front of the Navab and stabbed him with his Kataar.  Anwar Khan was really fat.  Baba ji stabbed him in the belly with his Kataar and twisted it.  The enemy then surrounded Baba Ajeet Singh ji and fired many bullets and arrows on him.  As he breathed his last breath, he made his body disappear, using his power.  Everyone saw this miracle and were shocked.  They said: “where did he go?  He was fighting here right now.”  Baba Ajeet Singh ji disappeared so the Turks would not cut his head to take to Aurangzeb.  The son of the Guru, Baba Ajeet Singh ji fought Lakhs of warriors.  He went to the realm of Hari as he was praised in the world.

6-40 Baba Jujhar Singh ji goes to Battle

The Turk army attacked from all 4 sides.  Sahibzada Baba Jujhar Singh ji asked his father for permission to go to battle.  Five Singhs went along with him.  They all had the wish to fight.  They first fired their rifles.  The warrior Singhs were aggressive and killed many.  The pistols fired, making popping noises.  They showed Satguru ji their battle, attacking with anger.  When no other option remains, one should give his head to the Prabhoo, in front of him.  They moved around on the field like lions among herds of deer.  They were fearless warriors.  Fear did not touch them.  They did not want to save their lives.  They advanced with their weapons.  The Singhs roared like lions on deer; like hawks on sparrows.  Whomever they hit, they sliced them in two.  They killed thousands.  The ground was coloured red.  The enemy tried to surround them but the Singhs came out like lightening.  They were not afraid to die.  Who can sing the praises of such warriors?  Whoever came in front of them, by the Guru’s radiance, they did not survive.  The Singhs ignored the hunger and fatigue.  Satguru ji gave the Singhs his power in abundance.  The Singhs jumped and fought like acrobats putting on a show.  The Singhs fought alone, showing their strength.  Till they had life in their bodies, they killed many of the enemy.  They killed as many as they could before dying.  The moustaches of the 5 Singhs was raised up.  They ruined many homes by killing many on the battlefield.  Just as the crocodile shakes the water and causes chaos, the Singhs shook up the whole army.  Many bullets were fired.  Many fell by one Singh.  Baba Jujhar Singh ji was really powerful.  His age was less but his forehead was very radiant.  As he saw his elder brother’s fight, he fought in the same way with anger and strength.  He showed strength and agility on the field to make his father happy.  His bow was strong and fierce.  He released sharp arrows.

Sri Baba Jujhar Singh ji showed a lot of strength as he fought.  He destroyed a lot of the army, making many fall to the ground.  Wherever he went, the enemy got riled up.  They would say: “catch him!  Kill him!”  The soldiers would come after him with swords, sailays, Saangs and Tomars.  They fired many bullets.  They wanted to surround and arrest the Singhs.  They got together to run after them.  Lakhs of weapons were fired like clouds raining.  The arrows were raining.  The bullets made loud noises.  Guru ji was protecting the Singhs from the bullets.  The Prabhoo extended his hand to protect them, till their time had not come.  The enemy became anxious.  Baba ji cut the enemy with his sword like a fire in the forest.  He would come out of the surroundings in a second and go to the other side.  The swords clashed onto the shields and made sparks.  He was like a child playing Khido.  He played with joy.  He was happy to die in front of his father.  Wherever he went, the enemy would move back, fearing him.  They would attack in groups.  The swords made shade, there were so many raised in the air.  Baba ji used his skills and showed his Shaster Vidya.  He killed many and made them fall.  The ground was red.  The dead bodies piled up.  Chopped heads rolled around like balls.  The limbs looked like sticks.  The vultures and scavengers came to eat the flesh.  They sat with peace to eat.  Nobody disturbed them.  When they ate the flesh, they spat out the bones.  The bones belonged to warriors and so they still wished to fight.  They would jump on the ground.  The crows cawed.  The vultures shrieked.  They dragged the bodies around.  The dogs ate the flesh and drank the blood.  The Bhoots, Pisaach and prayts drank the blood.  They were satiated.  The 64 Kaljognis drank the blood.  They said: “who else can satiate us other than the Guru?”  The Nagaras all played.  The Pattas and dhols played with the Shehnais.  The whole world was amazed to see this war.  The Turks were shocked.  The Kinnars, Gandarvs, Sidhs and Apsaras came to watch the battle with eagerness.  They were shocked to see this.  The said: “look at how 40 hungry Singhs are fighting 1,000,000.  To kill the sinners, Guru ji has started a huge war.  He has killed thousands.  In such little time, look how many bodies have piled up.”  Baba Jujhar Singh ji was really strong.  He showed his strength.  He killed thousands of the enemy.  He took many wounds on his body.  He then attained Shaheedi.  He also made his body disappear, like his brother.  Their bodies were later cremated as they reappeared.  His body disappeared while he was fighting.  The enemy was amazed to see this.  They looked in every direction but couldn’t find him.

When the two sons of Guru ji attained Shaheedi, the Singhs requested Guru ji: “Maharaj ji, what are you waiting for?  Go and leave the battle!  The enemy deceived us to catch you.  They wanted to fight and kill you.  You must survive so you can make many of us again.  We know this!  You can make Lakhs of us.  You have fought so much already and killed thousands.  Let us fight now!  The Singhs that fought, they have all died.  Look at the Lakhs of armies there.  How long can we fight?  They will attack the fort.”  Bhai Daya Singh ji, Bhai Dharam Singh ji, Bhai Sangat Singh ji, Bhai Maan Singh ji and Bhai Sant Singh ji remained.  Satguru ji heard this and smiled.  He said: “watch me release this one arrow.”  Guru ji released the arrow.  The arrow flew and made a really loud noise.  It sounded like lightening and thunder.  The arrow brought on a very eerie and scary feeling; the incarnations of death were called.  The regiment of the Turks that came to attack the fort, they all were blown and blasted in the blink of an eye.  10,000 soldiers of the Turk Army were annihilated with that one arrow of Guru ji.  It was a special arrow with divine powers.  The dead soldiers looked like dead worms.  That one arrow released many arrows with Guru ji’s powers.  The whole army stopped.  It all went quiet.  They didn’t move forward.  This was a big slap on their face.  This was a chaotic weapon.  They didn’t understand how 10,000 men died in one shot.  This was the power of the Guru.  The Nagaras and instruments stopped playing.  A deep fear struck every soldier in the Pahari and Turk army in the heart.  The army began to move backwards.  They stood at a distance from the fort.  They said: “don’t go close to the fort.  If we go close, we will be killed.  Look how many the Guru killed.  Don’t get killed for nothing.  It’s night time now.  The Guru will come out by himself soon.  He fought all day.  We fought all day.  It’s night now.  Keep a guard at night.  Keep the fort surrounded so the Guru doesn’t leave.”  The Turks did not come close to the fort.  They stayed far at a distance because of fear.

The shocked men said to each other: “the Guru of the Hindus is really powerful.  He held up Lakhs of armies.  He only had 40 Singhs with him.  He has killed hundreds of thousands.  Lakhs are wounded.”  The men talked among themselves.  Some sat and some stood on guard.  They stood in attention with their weapons in hand.  They walked around the fort at night.  They marched all night the day before and fought all day long.  They were tired.  They were hungry.  Who else would have the power to fight Lakhs of soldiers?  Guru ji did not show his powers but had to show it now as the hold of Kaliyuga was strong.  He had to fire the powerful weapon to kill 10,000 men.  He obeyed the command of Akaal Purakh and didn’t show any miracles.  He didn’t think it was good to show the powers.  He kept his powers a secret.  The circumstances were of such that Guru ji had to show the powers and kill the 10,000 soldiers of the enemy.  He killed them with one arrow.  He could have annihilated the whole army but that was not the command of the Parmeshwar.  Guru ji was above attachment and hatred; joy and sorrow.  This was all the same to him.  He didn’t kill the whole army; only 10,000 that were coming close to the fort.  Guru ji was detached from his family.  He had not even a little sorrow over the death of his sons.  He was the omnipotent, the most capable and complete Guru.  He could make anything he wished to.  He was the giver of all joys.  He tolerated the intolerable.  Nobody had the deep tolerance of the Guru.  No other Avatar had sacrificed their own sons in the name of Dharma.  He was overly forgiving towards the sinners.  He kept the Dharma.  Nobody else could do this.  The highest peak of Brahm Gyaan, Guru ji showed this to the good Sadhoos.  He showed the Sadhoos what the highest point of Brahmgyaan was.  The glory of the Satguru is Dhan Dhan!  Who can fully know the greatness of the Guru?  This was the deep knowledge of the complete Gyaan.  The complete Gyaani’s ways cannot be known.  How can a limited being know what that level is?

The Singhs insisted over and over again to Guru ji to leave the fort.  Guru ji then finally listened to them and made preparations to leave.  He wanted to give the Khalsa the Tikka of the Gurta Ghaddi.  They had made the necessary efforts for it.  The Khalsa was deserving of the Gurta Ghaddi.
