Poorbaardh 1.66 – 1.70

1-66 Prahlaad

Seeking the sanctuary of Sri Guru ji’s feet, the pain of being born and dying goes away; just as a poor person receives the Paaras and destroys his poverty.

Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Sri Guru ji travelled on.  Where Alalacheen birds live, Guru ji came there.  They are so strong that they could grab small elephants and fly away, really high.  Their size is really big and their wingspan is really wide.  The Giver of Joy came to that place.  This is where Prahlaad ji lived.  He was sitting there with his eyes closed.  Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji reached there and said: “Sri Kartaarang, Sri Kartaar,” in a loud voice.  Prahlaad ji lost his Dhyaan and saw Prabhoo ji.  He was really surprised to see Guru ji.  He said: “who are you and where are you from?  Who brought you to this place?  No human has the capability to come here.  Where do wish to go?”  Guru ji heard this and spoke: “the Simran of the Naam that you have done in a great way; you had faith upon the Parmeshwar that was really deep; your fear was destroyed, day and night, you did the Simran of the One Naam; who protected you and killed your tyrants; I am the lover of the same Naam.  I do Simran of the Treasure of all the Virtues.  I have his powers.  I wished to have your Darshan and came to you.”  Prahlaad ji heard this and said: “how did you clean the bowl and how did you drip the milk?  How did you warm it and add the curds?  How did you set the milk and how did you churn the butter?  How did you eat the butter?  Tell me everything, how you did the great effort.”  Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji spoke: “I cleansed the body with the Naam.  Forgiveness was the cow.  Santokh was the milk.  I warmed the milk with the heat of the body, burning the desires.  The wisdom of the Guru was the curd.  The Satsangat was the best place to set the milk to make yoghurt.  The pondering of the mind was used to churn the butter.  I let go of my ego, that was the churning.  To accept the will was the taste.  By the Guru’s blessing, I was satiated.”  Prahlaad Bhagat heard this and bowed his head while folding his hands.  Guru ji saw the pure love of Prahlaad ji and bowed to his feet as well.  Both were happy to see each other.

Prahlaad ji spoke: “you are the Avatar in the world just as Narsingh ji came with my wish.  When the saints are given pain in the world, the Dharam becomes spoiled; then Akaal Purakh comes to earth, taking on a human body and stabilizes and establishes the Dharam.”  He praised Guru ji and bowed, who destroyed the sins.  Listen Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, I then asked Prahlaad ji: “please tell us your Katha about how the Prabhoo saved you.  Your Katha is known in the world but I wish to hear it from your mouth.”  When Prahlaad ji heard my request, the wise Prahlaad ji then spoke: “I will tell you what happened.  The Prabhoo came as Varaah because the brother of my father took the earth to the 6th Pataal and hid the Vedas.  The earth called out to Parmeshwar for help.  Varaah killed my uncle and took the earth back and established it again.  When my father heard of his brother’s death, he was in great pain.  He became very angry and became Vishnu’s enemy.  He bit his lips and yelled at his servants: “Vishnu killed my radiant brother.  Vishnu rides the Garud and sees everyone as the same but he still gets angry for his Bhagats.  He let’s go of shame and cheats for the ones who do his Simran.  He does anything for the love of his Bhagats.  He cheated and became a bore to kill my brother, who gave me joy.  He killed my brother for the Brahmins.  My brother was scaring everyone but Vishnu made the world fearless.  Go and find the Brahmins.  Kill them all!  Wherever you see the Bhagats of Vishnu, kill them!”  My father’s servants heard my father’s commands and went to fight.  They were Daynts.  I will tell you their names: Duvaisur, Sambhar, Namchi, Teen Nain, Ilval, Paka, Sakun, Paloman the strong, Biparchit and many more.  They all went to the world to find the great Munnis and Brahmins.  They found them and fought them.  They burnt their villages and killed the cows.  They killed the Brahmins and cows at sight.  Fear spread in the world.  The Munnis and Brahmins ran away, leaving their homes.  The Mandirs were destroyed to dust.  Yagna, home and Tapp were stopped.  The crowd was anxious.  The Devatas fell from Heaven.  They disguised themselves and lived in the world.  Nobody spoke of Yagnas or homes.  Haranakash (Hirankashap according to the Puranas but it is Haranakash according to Sikh Scholars.  Hirankashap was the one killed by Varaah) was my father who went to do Tapp.  He wanted to win all 10 directions and the Digpals.  He did Tapp for this.  He was determined to win.  He did a strict Tapp with determination.  He sat on the peak of the Mandrachal Mountain.  He fell in love with the Tapp.  He raised his arms upwards.  His locks shined in the sun.  He stood on his toe.  He stood like this for a long time.  He did a strict Tapp.  His dreadlocks caught on fire.  The smoke from the fire spread in every direction.  It spread in the whole world.  The Devatas and humans were anxious to see the fire and Tapp.  The oceans had storms.  The stars broke and fell.  In all 10 directions, there was the fire of destruction.  The 7 continents had earthquakes.  The mountains trembled.  Everyone was scared.  They all went to Brahma, the Kamalasan (the One who sits on the Lotus).  They bowed to him and said: “how are you sitting here without worry?  Haranakash (Hirankashap) is doing a strict Tapp.  Fear has spread everywhere.  We can no longer remain patient.  You need to find a solution for his Tapp.  Haranakash will do the Tapp till your world is not destroyed.  We have heard this news in the world that he wishes to win Brahmpuri and erase the difference between sin and virtue.  He wants to remove you.  He wants to start his own traditions.  If this happens, the Vedas and its traditions will be destroyed.  There will be no sin or virtue.  Do what you think is good now.  Oh Master, destroy the problem in the world.  The Brahmins, cows and saints on earth; you are their saviour.  You are the bridge of the Karma and Dharma.  You give joy to all.”

Brahma heard the Devatas and respected them.  He then went to my father who was doing a strict Tapp.  My father could not be seen as his body was filled with grass as he was doing Tapp for many years.  His body was covered with soil and grass.  There were many Bamboo trees growing around him with many snake burrows.  His body was just bones and joints.  His skin, blood and flesh were eaten away by insects.  His body could be seen in the plants like the sun shining through the cloud.  Brahma saw this strict Tapp and became surprised.  He was happy and said: “get up son!  Your karma is coming to fruition.  Nobody has ever done a Tapp like this and nobody will ever do such a Tapp.  This is the truth.  You did a Tapp for 100 Divine years without drinking water or eating food.  You were able to keep your Pranas like this.  Your Tapp is strict.  My patience is gone.  You made me happy.  Get up and ask for what you wish.  My Darshan is successful for you.  I will give you what you wish for.”  Brahma then removed the grass and insects from my father’s body.  He put water on my father and washed him up.  The great warrior came out of the dirt.  His body became as hard as rock.  His radiance was like fire.  His body shinned.  He saw Brahma ji and was very happy.  He folded his hands and bowed to Brahma.  He praised Brahma ji: “I bow to the one who mounts the swan and rides it.  I bow to the one with 4 faces.  You are the support of the 3 Gunas.  You created the universe with your power.  You created the Pranas, Budh, Munn and the Indrees.  You give the power for all the senses.  You are the creator.  Your virtues are unlimited.  You give the Gyaan via the Vedas.  You are the one that has the Yagnas performed.  You are omnipotent and without vices.  You are unlimited.  You are omniscient.  You are the Sri Prabhoo ji.  I bow to your feet.  You are the Brahm form in every heart.  You are the inspirer of all.  You are the protagonist being.  You are the indestructible Hari.  Your wealth and power have no end.  I bow to the Bhagwanta, over and over again.  If you are going to give me a deserving boon, please give me what I ask for, oh root of the world.  Till where your creation exists to, I don’t wish to die.  I don’t wish to die inside or outside; day or night; by any weapon; on the ground or in the sky; on the mountain or in the sky; not by any Devata, Daynt, Jach or Naga; may I never be killed by any of them; no one should be able to kill me in a duel battle; the way everyone obeys you, they should obey me in the same way.  There should be no other king in my kingdom.  I wish to destroy all my enemies.  The Lokpals should be under my command.  Give me this boon, oh great one.”  Brahma ji heard the Daint Raaj’s boon and said: “you have asked for an impossible boon.  Your Tapp is so great though that I can’t refuse.  Evmast!  It shall be as you say!”  Brahma ji then disappeared.  He went to his home.

When Haranakash was granted his boon, he was really happy.  He became egotistical.  He thought of his brother and got angry.  He became the enemy of Sri Vishnu ji.  He quickly conquered the 3 Loks.  Nagas, humans and Devatas all feared him.  He set up his residence in Heaven and enjoyed many pleasures of the dimensions.  He sat on a bed that was white as milk foam and soft as flowers.  The walls had diamonds and gold on them.  The Attaris were made of crystals.  His canopies were beautiful.  They had stands of pearls hanging from them.  The steps of Manis had gems.  The pillars were beautiful.  The beautiful women of the Devatas, who had taken the beauty of the world, they were all under his command.  He enjoyed all of the pleasures of Heaven.  He experienced all the pleasures.  When he defeated all of the kings of the 3 Loks, he sat on the throne of the whole world.  He called the Lokpals.  They brought gifts for him, in fear.  They all worshiped him.  Brahma, Vishnu and Shiv did not though.  The other Devatas and Lokpals all bowed their heads.  His fierce command was cast over all.  Inder, Soorya and Chander feared him.  If someone planted something, it gave unlimited fruits.  The Devatas feared Haranakash and made sure all the fruits and vegetables were grown quickly.  Haranakash’s command was strict.  The Devatas were anxious and scared.  They all came to the shelter of Kartaar.  They praised the Kartaar: “oh Paarbrahm, Gun Nidh Bhagwanta, Sri Parmeshwar Kamalkant, Deen Dayaal Gobind, you are infinite.  You listen to the saints and the weak.  You destroy the pain and protect your bhagats.  You destroy the enemy.  You are the Sat, Chit and Anand form that gives Mukti.  We bow to you, oh giver of peace.  Destroy our pain, oh Master of the Universe.  Destroy the Daynt who doesn’t let us do your Bhagti.”  When the Devatas made a request, Akaal Purakh’s voice sounded from the sky: “don’t be scared.  Don’t be worried.  I know the corruptness of the Daynts.  In his home, a great Sadhoo will be born.  He will oppose his own son for doing my Bhagti.  I will then come to protect the Bhagat.  I will destroy Haranakash and save his son.”  Hearing the Akaash Vaani, the Devatas bowed their hands with their hands folded.  They all went back to their abodes and had faith that they will be protected.  They knew that the Daynt will be destroyed and their problems will be erased.”

1-67 Prahlaad’s Beginning Katha

Make the radiance of Sri Guru ji’s feet the jewellery of your heart.  I have become beautiful and respected in the both worlds.

Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Listen Guru Angad Dev ji, Giver of Joy, Prahlaad ji then said his history: “four sons were born, including me.  Our father’s body shined like gold.  He was happy.  Naarad Muni ji was compassionate over me and gave me the Gurmantra.  My mind was drenched in Bhagti all the time.  I rejected drama and plays of children.  My mind was always connected to the Lotus Feet of Hari.  Sitting down, standing up, sleeping and awake; I did Simran with love.  I was only concerned about the feet of Prabhoo.  Sometimes it was so deep that I felt like crying.  I would stop worrying and start to think of the virtues of the Prabhoo.  I would then get happy and laugh.  I would sometimes sing the praises out loud and sometimes I would dance, not concerned with what others would think of me.  I would sometimes go quiet and sit in Dhyaana.  I would begin to cry in Vairag.  My focus didn’t go anywhere else.  I was always connected to the Prabhoo.  My sleep, hunger and thirst were gone.  I was in deep love with the feet of the Prabhoo.  My mind was fully awake in the connection of Prabhoo.  I didn’t like the ways of the world.  I renounced all types of playing, that children played.  Some time passed like this.

One day my father gave me love and took me in his lap.  Shukar had two sons: Shanday and Markay.  They used to teach the children of the Daynts.  I was enlisted in their school as well.  They were told to teach me politics.  I studied with the other children.  We all learned but I didn’t accept their teachings.  I did the Simran of the Naam.  One day, my father took me in his lap and laughed.  He asked me: “son, what you have learnt from school?  Tell me.”  When I heard my father, I said: “listen father, the lesson I learnt is beautiful.  Let go of the blind well of wealth and attachment.  They only give you pain.  This will not break your bonds.  Let’s leave these palaces and go to the jungle.  We will serve the feet of Vishnu and enjoy the bliss.  Let’s do Simran and erase our Agyaan.  We can do Bhagti and achieve the highest status.”  When my father heard this, he laughed like an Agyaani.  He called my teacher, Shanday, and said: “this child’s wisdom has gone backwards.  He speaks faulty words from his mouth.  Who taught him this?  Don’t let him be in the company of Rishis.  Keep him in your home and teach him without fear.”

My teachers brought me to their home and had me sit in a place where I was alone.  They then asked me: “who taught you this backwards ideology?  Some bad person gave you this advice.  Forget this advice and don’t say that again.”  I said to my teachers: “you see own and others.  I don’t see mine and yours.  I only see the One Aatma.  I only bow to the Aatma which is everywhere.  Everything else is his Maya, which is, by his own joy.  Maya has casted its illusion on everything.  It caused yours and mines.  You see a difference but I don’t see any differences.  When Sri Kartaar is compassionate upon someone, then this sense of duality disappears.  Focusing in the Aatma, all duality finishes.  You don’t see yours or mines.  The fools do not understand the meanings of the Vedas.  They will never break their bonds or be blessed.  They will be born and dead, over and over again.  They suffer many types of pains.  The ones who see the Aatma, they break all of the worldly bonds and attachments.”  Shanda and Marka heard this and said: “this child is corrupt.  The Daynts are great like a jungle.  Vishnu is like an axe who wants to destroy this jungle.  Without the wooden handle, the axe head cannot cut the trees.  He’s using this wood to make his axe now.  He will surely have our people destroyed.  He is very stubborn and doesn’t fear anyone.  Let’s get a bamboo and give him wisdom by beating him.  Without the bamboo stick, he won’t learn.  Let’s show him fear then we can teach him our teachings.”  I didn’t listen to them.  I didn’t say anything when they tried to teach me.  A long time passed like this.  They thought I was learning their teachings but I didn’t listen.

One day I came to my father.  My teachers were there too.  I bowed to my father.  He blessed me with joy.  He lifted me and hugged me.  He kissed my forehead and seated my on his thigh.  He said: “oh son, you came to me after many days.  Tell me what you have learned.  Say it out loud.”  I heard this and said what was in my heart: “understand my wisdom in your heart.  The praises and Simran of Hari is the best thing to listen to.  Do Keertan, serve the feet of Hari; do archana/pooja and bow to the Sri Jag Deva; have faith; give your body to Hari; see Hari as your friend; these are the 9 types of Bhagti which give Mukti.  We should do this with love.  The other education, I have rejected which does not give you a rye of a benefit.”  My father, Haranakash, heard this and became angry.  He clenched his lips with his teeth.  His eyes became red.  He spoke to the sons of Shukar: “you are fools!  You are on the other side.  You give the education of my enemy.  You have disrespected me!  You are unfortunate.  You give my son Vishnu’s education.  I have understood that you are thieves.  You are disguised but I understand you.  You are the lowest of all the Brahmins.  Your Bhuddi is spoiled.”  Shanday and Markay heard this and folded their hands.  They said: “we are innocent.  We didn’t teach him this.  Nobody else taught him either.  Your son is naturally like this.  He has learned the corrupt teachings from someone and is saying all this.  You are getting angry at us for this but you need to understand that it is your son’s fault.”  My father looked towards me and said: “son, if your Gurus haven’t taught you this then where did you learn this corrupt ideology from?”  I heard my father and said: “let go of your anger, father.  The one who is possessed with pleasures and desires, they will not understand the wisdom of wise people.  Even if you try millions of times, they will never understand.  Their hearts are Bemukhs and will not understand.  It’s peaceful to live near the Mansarovar.  Swans eat pearls there.  If a crow is told to live there, it will not understand.  Crows only eat feces.  All of the pure things are at the Mansarovar.  There is nothing likable for the crow there.  The fool will never learn the ways of Bhagti.  The bonds of the world are heavy.  There is one way out of them though: listen to the wisdom of the Satguru.  Pain will not remain then.  The weak Gurus only take money but have no Aatam Gyaan.  They don’t know the righteous path nor can they teach it.  They are like the blind teaching the blind.  They fall into the pothole.  Their followers fall as well.  Oh father, why do you not do the Simran of the feet of Prabhoo?  You will be released from being born and dying again.  Do the Satsangat with the saints, who are like the Kamdhenu cow, granting all your wishes.  Take the dirt from the feet of the saints and put it on your head.  You will cross this world ocean that way.  You will achieve the Param Ghat, highest status, in every way.”  My father, the Raja of the Daynts, heard this and got angry.  His body was red and began to shake in anger.  His eyes were sharp and scary.  He roared out loud while throwing me from his lap: “take him and kill him!  He is not my son.  I am not his father.  He is a fierce illness on my body.  He is a tumor on my limb.  Amputating such a limb would give me peace.  Just kill him!  Don’t think about it.  The one who killed my brother, he does his Upasana.  He left his family and joined the enemy.  He is the lover of Vishnu’s feet.  The son that goes to the enemy, that is not a son, that is an enemy.  If another thinks good for you, that is your son.  The son-like person should be given joy.  Understand this.  Kill him!  He is not my son.”  The servants heard this harsh thing.  The Daanavs, with scary faces, got up to kill me.  They had Trishools and swords in their hands.  They were dark with huge teeth.  They skins were like copper.  They yelled: “catch him!  Kill him!  Cut his body to pieces!”  Everyone took their weapons and swung them on me.  They had swords and Trishools.  Their attempts were all unsuccessful.  They couldn’t harm a single hair of mine.  The one who is Bemukh from Ikankaar, their efforts are always unsuccessful.  The Daynt Raja saw this with his own eyes.  He fell into doubt.  He said: “he won’t die like this.  Do something else: have an elephant rip his body apart.  Have snakes bite him all over his body.  If he still survives all this, then give him poison in his food.”  The Daanavs did all these attempts.  They put me in front of an elephant but the elephant bowed its head to me.  The cobras that were thrown on my, they wrapped themselves around me like a garland.  I wasn’t harmed.  I was poisoned too but Sri Kartaar saved me again.  Who could have killed me?  I was then tied and thrown off of a very high mountain.  I was then drowned in water followed by being burnt in fire.  (My father’s sister, Holika, had a blanket, that did not burn in fire.  It was given to her for her Tapp.  She took the blanket and carried me in her lap.  She took me and sat on a burning pyre to burn me.  As the fire raged, the blanket burned along with Holika, my aunt.  I was saved) I survived everything.  I didn’t even get a scratch.  They then kept me without food for many days.  They tried to kill me in many ways.  They tried everything.  They were getting worried.  When my father saw all this, he got worried.  All of his tries were without fruit.  He thought to himself: “he doesn’t die.  I tried to scare him and spoke to him with harsh words, but he is still happy.  His radiance is great.  He is definitely my enemy.  My enmity has grown.  He must die.  If he doesn’t die, it will be bad.  I feel my death coming.”  In this way, my father was worried.  His face was depressed.  His radiance was gone.

Shanda and Marka saw all that was happening.  They took my father to a room and spoke to him with sweet words: “listen Raja ji, we tried to convince the boy but he didn’t listen.  Why are you worried?  Seeing your angled eyebrows, the 3 Loks lose their patience in fear.  Why are you concerned over one child?  The 3 Loks are under your command.  Let go of your worries and listen to us: tie him with the Varunpaas (water rope – special weapon).  Shukracharya has one in his home.  We can tie this child with it and keep him.  When our father comes back, he will know how to talk to the child.  The child will be older then and become wiser.  Shukracharya will teach him politics and other educations.”  My father accepted their idea.  He said: “take him and tie him up.  Teach him the 3 ways of our Dharma.”

Shanday and Marka tied me with the Varunpaas and took me to their home.  They came to me everyday to teach me but I didn’t listen to them.  They were stuck in attachment and hatred.  How could my mind get stuck in such a trap?  My attention was focused in the feet of Sri Kartaar.  Day and night, my awareness understood the infinite from the finite.  I was in love with the wisdom.  I saw the universe as a myth that was not going to last forever.  I did the Simran of the Naam which I understood to be the only support.  When my teachers went outside for household tasks, the other children of the Daynts would come to me.  I would give them the right wisdom.  They would take the wisdom and engrave it into their hearts.  They would listen to me and ask me questions.  They became aware in their hearts about Bhagti a lot.”

1-68 Prahlaad Parsang

The feet of Sri Guru ji are fragrant like the Ketuki flower, which have the thorns of love attached to them.  My mind is like a bee, struck by the thorns.  I say the Katha with joy.

Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Listen Guru Angad Dev ji to the pure Katha of how Bhagat Prahlaad ji spoke: “when the children of the Daynts came to sit with me, I would give them the right wisdom.  I would say to them: “listen oh children of Daynts, make your pranas blessed.  This human life is rare and hard to get, my brothers.  It does not last in this world.  Serve the Lotus feet of the Sri Pat (Husband of Sri = Vishnu).  Discard your ego, the sense of your body’s existence and pride, along with your desires of pleasures.  Do the Simran of the great Naam, day and night.  The Naam is the home of joy.  It will give you Mukti.  Discard your efforts to gain pleasure.  Pleasures are in the animal kingdom as well; pigs, dogs and others.  They are animals because of their karmas.  Animals experience pleasure through their Indrees in the same ways as humans.  Birds and other animals get pleasures without effort.  They mate out in the open.  They have no shame about it.  This body was given to you to do Simran.  Don’t lose this opportunity.  As pain comes without asking for it, joy comes in the same way, as per your Karma.  You will get what you are destined to.  So therefore, don’t make efforts for pleasure.  Till the body doesn’t die, do the Simran of the Ocean of virtues.  Listen, as the age passes by, half is spent sleeping.  Many years pass as a child without awareness.  You have no idea about wisdom.  When you grow up, the woman wins you.  You are then worried about earning money.  One is then caught in the old age.  The Indrees go weak in old age.  The Bhuddi becomes anxious and worried.  In old age, one is caught in the strong attachment.  The person spends the whole life in the family.  The attachment of the family is a strong rope that cannot be cut unless you receive the Gyaan from the Guru.  By the compassion of Prabhoo, you can receive Vairagya.  You can then break the attachments of the family.  You can then see the world as limited.  The Guru’s wisdom is learnt.  The Aatma is complete, everywhere you look.  You can see your own form and know it everywhere.  The focus stays steady and bliss is achieved.  The practice becomes steady.”  The children of the Daynts spoke: “all that you have said, where did you receive the Gyaan from?  How did you see the infinite Aatman and know that the world as a myth?  We study from the same Guru.  We never went to anyone else.  Nobody else has come here.  We have never gone to the Satsang.  Nobody came and you never went.  How did you get this Gyaan?  Erase this doubt that we have.”  I heard this and said: “when my father went to do the strict Tapp on the Mandrachal Mountain, the Devatas heard about this and collected their armies.  They got happy and said to each other: “let’s destroy the Daynt families.  We can do it without any effort just as many insects can kill a snake.”  They brought many armies to our capital.  The proud Devatas waged war in anger.  The Daanavs got together and fought back.  Gurjs, Trishools, mountains and trees were used all at once.  Inder was saved but was really angry.  Inder took all his warriors and killed many Daanavs with his Vajjar.  Many Daanavs ran away in fear.  They didn’t wait to take their sons, fathers or friends; they ran to save themselves.  Inder won and came into the city of the Daynts.  The Daanavs’ army was destroyed.  Inder looted Multan.  Inder saw my mother and arrested her.  He took her with him.  As they travelled, Naarad Munni ji met Inder on the way.  Inder was pulling my mother.  Naarad saw this and became compassionate.  He said: “listen, King of the Devatas, you are taking her without fault.  Listen to me and let her go.”  Inder heard this and said: “she is pregnant with a strong son.  When he is born, I will kill him.  That’s why I have arrested her.”  Naarad ji said: “listen, Inder, don’t kill her son.  You won’t be able to kill him.  He is the Bhagat of Hari who will be an Aatam Gyaani.  Nobody can kill him.  The Devatas that are with you, they can’t kill him either.  He is in the Seva of Hari Parmeshwar.”  Inder got scared and let my mother go on the insistence of Naarad Muni.  When he heard that the child was going to be a “Bhagat,” Inder bowed to my mother and did 3 Parkarmas around her.  He left my mother there.

Naarad ji brought my mother to his Ashram with love.  He said: “oh daughter, stay in my Ashram till your husband doesn’t come back to meet you.  You can stay here without fear.  Stay here with the Rishis without worry.”  My mother was no longer worried.  She served the Rishis with love and devotion.  A long time passed like this.  When I was born, I received the Gyaan of wisdom.  My mother didn’t even know when I had become the Bhagat of Hari.  I was a Bhagat since I was in her womb.  I have told you my story.  For this reason, destroy your pleasures and do the Bhagti of Hari.  The body has 6 vices but the Aatma has none.  Know that the Aatma is in the whole body.  The body is conceived in the womb (Janam), takes form (Ast), grows up (Ar Bridh); changes (Pranama); grows weak (Kheen) and bares the pain of dying (Marno).  The Aatma is always separate from the body; like the lotus lives in water but does not get drenched with water.  The Aatma is always pure and pervades everywhere as the same.  The Aatma is the support of the body.  Nothing can exist without the Aatma.  It is Sat, forever, blissful and indescribable.  This is your real form.  The solid body and the material things will not last forever so therefore let go of “me” and “mine.”  The root of Prakriti (nature) is the Mahitat.  From the Mahitat, ego was first born.  From ego, the 5 Tan Matra were born (sound, touch, sight, taste and smell).  The body is made from that which has the senses.  5 Gyaan Indrees (ear, skin, eyes, tongue, and nose), 5 Karam Indrees (voice box, hands, feet, urethra, and anus) and the mind comes from the 5 primal elements.  That is the body is made, consisting of the solid body, the Pranas and the Munn/Bhuddi.  The solid universe is also made of the 5 primal elements.  The One Purkha is everywhere which you should recognize.  It is always separate from everything but supports all.  Just as there is a string in the beads of a mala, they are supported by one thread.  The 3 states (Jaagrat – awake, Swapan – dream and Sakopat – deep sleep) do not exist in the Aatma.  In the Turiya state (4th state), it is the witness of all.  If you see your real form, you will receive the beautiful bliss.  The taking birth and death is the result of Agyaan.  One develops the ego from sin and virtue.  They receive births in different species and suffer.  They are led by their desires and receive the type of body according to it.  Discard your pleasure.  You can receive bliss in this way.  Naarad ji gave me this Gyaan.  I am giving it to you now, my brothers.  Give your Karma to Vishnu’s feet.  Became desireless and do the Simran of his Naam.”  The children heard my words and started to do the Bhagti which destroyed the pain.  They did the Simran of the Naam, which gives joy.  They sang the praises of Hari with deep love.  While awake, sitting and walking, they said “Hari Hari” all the time.  The sons of Shukar noticed this and saw this as a bad thing.  They took me to my father.

They said: “keep your son with you.  He spoiled the other children too.  He has not even a little bit of fear in his mind.  He taught the others to do Bhagti as well.”  The Raja of the Daynt was an Agyaani.  He was egotistical and unwise.  He got angry.  It was like a second lava erupting.  He looked at me with sharp eyes.  He spoke harsh words: “you fool!  You are unfortunate.  You disregarded our traditions.  Your death is near.  You disobeyed me.  Where are you getting the strength to do this, you family destroyer?”  My father kicked me in the chest and spoke venomous words.  I then folded my hands and said: “Pitha, the anger you are doing is useless.  Why are you speaking poisonous words?  I have no strength and neither do you.  The support of the world is someone else.  He is really strong.  He is the power of the plants and animals.  He has kept them under his command.  He supports them.  He is the strongest.  He is the death of death.  He can eat anyone like a snake eats a frog.  The strength in the body, this is by the compassion of the Parmeshwar.  Discard the nature of Daynts.  Do the effort to win your mind.  There is no greater enemy than the mind.  It gives you many births.  Control it.  Do something to win it.  There is nothing better than that.  The senses are the horses of the Munn.  The Munn mounts the chariot and runs in the 10 directions.  The Munn is stuck in the pleasures.  The great ego is the strong fort.  The lust, greed, and anger (etc.) are the soldiers that help the Munn.  They are really strong warriors.  Nobody can defeat them.  The one that defeats them is really strong.  If you want to ask me how to kill them then go to the Satsangat with love.  Do the Simran of the Parbrahm.  Discard your ego.  Focus your attention in the Simran of the Naam.  Remove the other efforts from your mind.  This is how you can win your Munn.  You will receive the greatest victory.  Without defeating the Munn and calling yourself a warrior; counting yourself as strong; the wise people see him as a fool.  That person couldn’t see the deep secret.”  When my father, Haranakash, heard my words, he was egotistical and unwise; he became really angry.  It was like oil on fire.  His body shook and his eyes were red with anger.  He bit his lips and was not at ease.  He looked scary from the head to the toes.  Smoke came from his nose and filled the air.  The ministers in his court got scared and remained quiet.

1-69 Prahlaad Parsang II

Oh Satguru ji, cut my chains of attachment and board me onto your boat of Naam.  Sail me across so my life is a success.  Do it without delay.

Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, listen to the Katha of Prahlaad ji as he said it to me: “when Haranakash, my father, heard about the Upasana of Vishnu, he got angry, like fire.  He was egotistical and wanted to kill me.  He spoke poisonous words to me: “foolish child, there is no Ishwar other than me!  Tell me where he is or else I will cut your head off.”  He took out his sword from its sheath.  It shined in the light.  He said: “who is your protector?  Tell me.  I will send you to the home of the Jumms.”  I heard this and said: “he is omnipotent and omnipresent.  He is everywhere.  There is no place without him.  The non-sentient and sentient, he resides in both.  In the non-sentient, he is there.”  My father said: “if he exists in the non-sentient places, he should be in the pillar as well.  I don’t see him.  Foolish child, you speak nonsense!  I will cut your head off now.”  I was determined and stayed standing.  The pillar was heated to a red hot colour.  I said: “Vishnu is there but you can’t see it.  Your wisdom is weak.”  My father got angry and looked towards the pillar.  He hit the pillar with the hilt of his sword, really hard.  A very loud and scary noise came from the pillar.  It was so loud that it seemed as though the whole universe ripped apart.  The sound was heard in different dimensions.  Brahma heard it in his dimension.  Everyone got scared and thought the Parlo was coming.  The people in the court became deaf.  Some fell over in fear, hearing the loud noise.  The Daynts lost the awareness of themselves.  The scary noise echoed everywhere.  Haranakash was surprised at the loud noise as it was just his hilt that hit the pillar.  Nobody saw anything.  My father picked up his sword again, to kill me.  At that point, the pillar ripped apart and then Hari appearing, showing his form.  He was not human nor lion.  He was huge and radiant.  He was lion from the top half and human from the bottom half.  He was the “Narsingh.”  The Master of the Universe ripped the pillar and came roaring through.  It was an amazing form.  The King of the Daynts saw him and wondered who it was.  He was so big and scary.  My father got scared and trembled.  He couldn’t figure out what he was looking at.  Sri Narsingh roared out loud.  He opened his wide mouth and roared many times.  His teeth were ferocious.  My father got scared seeing this.  He lost his patience.  Narsingh’s eyes were red; his tongue was like a sword.  It was the Destroyer of Pain.  The colour of his body was like burning gold.  His ears were high.  His mouth was like a cave.  His eyebrows were like bows.  His mane was scarier than a cloud.  He made his body even bigger, touching the Heavens.  His chest was wide.  His waist was thin.  His arms were huge.  His nails were long and scary.  They were stronger than the Vajjar.  His body was solid.  The Daanavs ran away.  The king of the Daynts knew that he had to fight now.  He picked up his gurj and became proud.  He was strong.  He gathered his courage and patience.  He came in front of Sri Narsingh ji.  It was like a carefree elephant coming.  He swung his gurj, really hard, but Narsingh stopped it.  Haranakash swung again and Narsingh grabbed him like Garud catching a snake with no difficulty.  Haranakash used his strength to gain freedom.  He began to wrestle Narsingh.  Narsingh played with Haranakash as he tried to wrestle.  He released himself and thought he did it himself.  Narsingh roared.  The Devatas got scared seeing this.  They were afraid for Narsingh.  They doubted the Prabhoo.  They saw Haranakash as strong.  What they didn’t know was that Narsingh was playing with Haranakash like Garuda lets the snake go sometimes.  The Devatas didn’t know what was going on.  Haranakash took his sword and shield and yelled.  Sri Narsingh ji roared.  The roar made the sky and land tremble.  He grabbed Haranakash like a snake catches a frog by the neck.  Haranakash suffered.  Narsingh grabbed him tight.  He took him to the doorway of the court.  It was evening.  He made Haranakash sit on his thigh and said: “look!  It’s not night nor day.  You’re not on land or sky.  I am not a human nor an animal.  I have no weapon.  You are not inside nor outside.  I am not made by Brahma’s creation.”  Sri Bhagavan ji ripped the belly of Haranakash with his nails.  He killed him in an instant.  They were not inside nor outside.  It was not day nor night.  It was not the ground nor the sky.  He killed him with something that was not alive nor dead.  He was not born of Brahma’s creation.  Bhagvan came out of the pillar.  Sri Narsingh had fulfilled Brahma’s boon.  He killed the Daynt that gave pain to the Bhagats.  He ripped his abdomen with anger.  Bhagvan’s face was open like the mouth of death.  His body was wet with blood.  He looked radiant with the colour red.  He took out my father’s intestines and put them around his neck.  His anger was beyond tolerance and would not calm down.

The Daanavs that had run away, they came back to fight.  They were all killed by the nails of Sri Narsingh ji.  He killed them all with one strike.  His anger was still not calm.  He shook his mane.  Black clouds came into the sky and went to their dimensions.  Prabhoo roared with all his might.  The whole universe became anxious.  The vessels of the Devatas broke apart.  The stars broke and fell.  The earth felt pain with Sri Narsingh ji’s feet.  The radiance was too much.  No Daanav remained there.  Everyone was killed by his nails.  He went to Haranakash’s throne and sat on it.  The Devatas showered flowers onto Narsingh ji.  Brahma, Shiv ji and others came to meet Sri Narsingh ji.  Sidhs, Pittars, Yakshas, Rishis, Jachs, Devatas, Kubair, Scholars, Gandharvs, Kinnars and others all came to see Parmeshwar’s ferocious form.  They were all scared to see him.  They couldn’t look at him, it was so scary.  They couldn’t come in front of him.  They stood far away with their hands folded.  Brahma, Shiva and the immortal Devatas sang his praises with bliss: “Jai Jai Jai Tav Sri Jag Sai – victorious is the Master.  Namo Namo Trai Lokan Rai –  we bow to the king of the 3 Loks.  Namo Namo Bhagtan Dukh Khandan –  we bow to the destroyer of the pain of the Bhagats.  Jai Jai Jai Dharni ke Mandan – victory to the protector of the earth.  These Daanavs gave pain to the Bhagats.  They defeated us all and kicked the weak out.  You killed the strong one.  You killed him without any effort.  Your anger is radiant.  The 3 Loks are afraid of you.  Oh compassionate one.  Calm down and make everyone fearless.”  Brahma ji looked towards Rama (Lakshmi) and said: “calm his anger down.  Erase the anxiety of the world.”  Lakshmi came close to Sri Narsingh but returned back.  She said to Brahma: “I have never seen or heard him like this.  This is a very scary form of his.  I can’t take his radiance.  I am scared to see him.”

Listen Guru Angad Dev ji to the Katha of Prahlaad ji of how he said it to me: “the Devatas came to me and spoke with a lot of love: “go close to Sri Narsingh ji.  Calm his anger down.  His anger is too much.”  I heard them.  I wasn’t afraid.  I went to Bhagvaan and grabbed his feet.  I bowed to him laying on the floor like a stick.  When Sri Narsingh ji saw me, lying at his feet, fearless.  The Master then picked me up and put his hand on my head.  He kissed my forehead with love.  I then praised the Master of the Universe as I had a deep love for him.  My eyes shed tears in love, seeing him.  I said: “you are the lover of the Bhagats.  You are the Parbrahm Swami.  You are the friend of the weak.  You are the omniscient Prabhoo.  Brahma and the other Devatas cannot know your greatness, even a little bit.  You have the Para (Brahm Vidya) and Apra (other than Brahm Vidya) Vidya.  They all call you infinite.  I was born a Daanav, what can I know?  I don’t know anything else.  I have recognized that you are difficult to impress but you can’t see your Bhagats in pain.  A Brahmin with the 10 virtues who does not do Bhagti cannot impress you but a Chandaal, not having the 10 virtues; when he does Bhagti with love all the time, he is more beloved to you.  I have understood this with deep thought.  You only love Bhagti.  Yagna, donations, Tapp, Dharma, Sat, Sam (controlling the mind), Dam (controlling the Indrees), patience, tolerance, calm, without jealousy; these are the 10 virtues.  Being born in the family of Brahmins and filled with ego; without Bhagti his 10 virtues are sins.  Being born in the low caste, leaving the ego and doing your Bhagti, doing the Seva of your great feet, that person is pure and destroys the sins of others as well.”  The Master of the Tribhuvan (3 worlds) heard my request and calmed his anger down.  He spoke to me with love and calmness: “Prahalad, you are a complete Bhagat.  You have absolutely no fault.  Ask for a boon that is in your heart.  There is nothing that I can’t give you.”  I heard this and then said: “destroy my desires oh Parmeshwar.  The good desires of doing your Bhagti, that is what I wish for.  The one who does your Bhagti for wishes, that person is like a merchant.”  Sri Nar Hari said to me: “oh Bhagat, I am the great giver.  I know that you have no desires.  If you ask for something, I will be happy.  Ask for a boon.  It is my command that you ask for something.  You are my beloved.”  I folded my hands and obeyed.  I said: “if it is your compassion, may all of my desires burn away.  I wish for my Bhagti to be always in love with your feet.”  I bowed to him many times and grabbed his feet.  The Parmeshwar was happy.  He spoke with love: “you will always be still.  You will have the bliss of both worlds.  You will experience it without sorrow or doubt.  You are to become the king of the Daanavs.  I want you to rule for a very long time.  You are my Shiromani Bhagat.  You are the greatest Bhagat.  Ego and desire won’t be able to touch you.”  The Master said this to me and then I bowed my head to Bhagvan’s feet.  I said to him: “my father was a great sinner and had a filthy mind.  He slandered you and became your enemy.  Oh Deen Dayal, please bless him and forgive his sins.  He was your enemy and hated you.  He spoke harsh words for you because he was unwise.  He was a complete sinner, filled with all the vices.  Without any reason he bothered the people of the world.  Your way is amazing in the world that you save the poor and purify the sinners.  Forgive him and give him Mukti.  Don’t leave any one of his sins in your heart.”  Sri Narsingh ji became compassionate and spoke while laughing: “in the family that is born such a servant of mine, you did my Bhagti with determination and without fear; is there any doubt that your father will not be Mukat?  I have blessed the 21 generations of yours.”  After saying this, he made me ascend the Royal Throne.  He blessed me with Vivek and knowledge.  The great Sri Narsingh ji disappeared right before our eyes.  That same Prabhoo has now come in Kaliyuga.  He took on an Avatar as a Bhagat because the people of Kaliyuga are big sinners.  He has come to show the people the righteous path.  He saw me as his servant and gave me his Darshan.  He is the one who saved me as Narsingh.  Now I see his form again.  This is my Katha, oh wise Bala.”

Listen Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, when I heard the whole Katha from Prahalad ji, I folded my heads and bowed to him.  His glory was the greatest of all the Bhagats.  For a long time, Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji stayed there and spoke with Prahlaad ji.  When we were leaving, they both bowed to each other.  The Destroyer of Pain then headed on forwards.

1-70 Varaah Avatar

The feet of Sri Guru ji are like the shield that saves me from the arrows of vices.  I make them my support and say the Katha.

Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, listen to the beautiful Katha.  The Deen Dayala Guru then travelled forward.  Bhai Mardana ji then said: “Prabhoo came as the boar Avatar and killed Harinakashyup.  How did he take the earth to the Rasatal?  How was it brought back?  These Daynts were very bad.  Tell us, Sri Guru ji, the Complete One.”  Guru ji, the Home of Virtues, said: “I will tell you the Katha as it is written in the Puranas.  There was a time when Kashyap did a Yagna and sat in his home with joy.  It was evening.  The daughter of Daksh, Ditti, who had a deep desire for sexual pleasure, came to Kashyap and said: “Kamadeva has made my mind and body tremble like the elephant moves the banana tree.  This vice bothers me.  He attacked me, seeing me as weak.  Your other wives have children.  When I see them, my heart burns.  You are compassionate and capable in every way.  You see your other wives as equal.  Desire bothers my body.  Please engage with me as I am in pain because of Kaam.  Please calm my desires.  The one that comes to your shelter, the compassionate ones should not refuse them.  If I have sons, then I will be happy.”  Kashyap heard his wife, Ditti, speaking and respected her.  He said: “you are my beloved, oh one with the moon-like face.  I will fulfill your desires at night.  It is evening now.  It is a bad time.  It is not good to engage in love-making at this time.  Shankar roams around with his Ganns at this time to take care of and protecting people.  Shiv ji rubs ash on his body, making it white like silver.  The one who has 3 eyes of fire, sun and moon, he roams with his servants with joy.  It is the time for Pooja at this time.  This is not the time to meet.  Having sex during the day lowers the age.  Making love on special days makes bad children.  Evening is the same thing.  Save yourself from Shiv ji’s vision.”  When Ditti heard this, who was injured by Kamadeva’s arrows, she was like a shameless woman with an ill repute.  She grabbed the clothes of her husband and proceeded to tempt him.  She said to her husband: “I can’t resist.  Come to me.”  Kashyap saw that Ditti was in pain.  He took her to where they were alone.  He then made love to her and killed the illness of Kamadeva.  He then went to do his evening Pooja.  He drenched his mind into the Gayatri Mantra.

Ditti was regretting her actions.  She was embarrassed.  She lowered her eyes and came to her husband again.  She was afraid of Shiv ji and said: “oh husband, may my children be well.  I hope Shiv ji is not angry and destroys them.  I bow to his lotus feet.  The Devatas worships Mahadev.  I want him to forgive my mistake.  Don’t be in sorrow is it was my womanly need.”  Kashyap said: “oh unwise foolish woman, you will give birth to two corrupt children.  They will give pain to the whole world.  They will commit many sins together.  Vishnu will come as an Avatar to kill them.  He will battle them to kill them both.  You became pregnant in the evening.  I will give you a boon though, the son of your son will be a great Bhagat.  He will be wise and see the One.  Because you regretted your action, you will have a great grandson, the giver of joy.  You will be generous to all.  He will bless your lineages.  He will feel the pain and joy of others.”  Ditti heard this and became happy in her heart.  She thought to herself: “Prabhoo will kill my sons and bless them.  I will have a great Bhagat as a grandson.  He will have Holy virtues.”  (Kashyap was referring to Prahlaad) Ditti was pregnant and spent 100 years like this.  The womb became very hot and the heat was felt by all 3 Loks.  It destroyed the peace in all 3 Loks.

The whole universe was worried.  The Devatas went to Brahma and bowed to him.  They said: “oh Master of the Universe, you know everything.  You know the status of all 3 Loks.  From Kashyap, Ditti is pregnant.  The heat of the womb is really hot.  Who will be born from that womb that is giving pain right now?”  Vidhatta then said: “Sanak, Sanandan, Sanatan and Sanat Kumar; my 4 sons, went to see Vishnu in Vaikunt once.  It is the beautiful place.  It is always blossoming Basant there.  The beautiful birds sing there all the time.  The flower gardens are radiant there.  The bees buzz there.  The vessels are golden there.  They have colourful gems in them.  Many Bhagats live there in joy.  They had done Vishnu’s Seva and made him happy.  In Vaikunt, the walls are made of gold.  The beautiful canopies hang there with even pearl strands.  Rama (Lakshmi) walks there with a lotus in her hand.  Her golden jewellery clank as she moves.  My sons go there when they wish to.  When they crossed 6 gates of Vaikunt and arrived to the 7th gate, the guards (Jai and Vijay) stopped my sons with their sticks.  My sons were always in the state of 5 years old.  They were Param Han Brahmgyaanis who did not wear clothes.  They were always in the single state with Gyaan.  They were stopped by the guards.  They looked towards the guards and said: “you let some go to see the Prabhoo and stop some.  You discriminate.  You are not deserving of being the guards of Prabhoo.  You think like Daynts.  You are cursed to take birth on earth.  This is the gate of Prabhoo.  You should not discriminate.  That’s how the guards should be, indiscriminate.”  Jai and Vijay became scared.  They folded their hands and said: “you cursed us with pain.  Give us a boon so that Prabhoo does not forget us.  When will this curse break?  We come to your sanctuary.”  When my 4 sons heard this, the Great Rishis said: “you will suffer our curse and become Daynts.  You will become kings on earth.  Sri Prabhoo Vishnu ji will come as an Avatar.  He will come to kill you.  You will take 3 births each.  You will then come back to Sri Prabhoo ji’s gate.”

When Kamlakant heard of this, he ran from his court and came to his Param Han Bhagats.  He came to calm the anger of his Bhagats.  He came barefoot to the gate, who only loves love.  He showed his feet to the Rishis.  Their anger was fully calmed down then.  The Shyam form was really beautiful.  His thighs and beauty were unmatched.  The chains around his waist were beautiful.  The Banmala around his neck was beautiful.  He had armlets in all 4 arms.  He had golden rings and bracelets.  His abdomen was defined and radiant.  His shoulders were high and strong like bulls.  His chin and cheeks were beautiful on which earrings dangled.  His lips were red and his teeth were like diamonds.  His eyebrows were like bows.  His nose was sharp like a parrot’s.  His hair was beautiful like baby snakes.  His eyes were wide like the lotus petals.  His sight was sharp that gave peace.  His crown was radiant.  The servants ran behind him with a Chattar, which had pearl strands hanging from it.  Servants with Chaurs came, running.  The servant with the fans ran to him.  The Rishis saw the beautiful form of Prabhoo and were amazed.  Millions of moons did not equal Prabhoo’s face.  They praised the Bhagawan and bowed on to the ground, laying like a stick.  They had regret in their hearts as they folded their hands.  They said: “oh Prabhoo Jagan Nath, we cursed your guards without fault.  Forgive us, oh Omniscient One.”  Vishnu ji heard this, the Treasure of Virtues, and smiled.  He spoke in a sweet voice: “you are not at fault.  This is happening according to my wish.”  He took them all to his beautiful home and had them sit with respect.”  Brahma said this to the Devatas, Mardana.  Brahma ji said: “Ditti is pregnant and I don’t have a solution for this.  Don’t be scared though, Sri Pat Bhagvan will bless everyone.”  The Devatas heard this and let go of their doubt.  They all went to their own dimensions.

After 100 years, Ditti was ready to give birth to her sons.  Many bad things happened.  There was a loud noise in all 3 Loks.  Earthquakes happened.  The 10 directions burned.  The stars began to break.  The Bodi star came up and there was darkness everywhere.  The sun and moon were surrounded.  The sky thundered without clouds.  Vultures, dogs and donkeys yelled loudly.  Hot wind flowed that was painful.  Big trees were uprooted.  A loud noise killed all the birds to fall from their nests.  The animals of the jungle were in pain.  The animals urinated in fear.  It rained.  Cows milked blood from their udders.  Seeing the bad omens, the humans thought it was the end of the world.  Everyone was in fear.

The 2 Daynts were born with heavy bodies.  They grew in a matter of a few days.  Their heads touched the sky, with their crowns.  Harinakashyup took a gurj and lifted it on his shoulder.  The fool won the 10 directions.  Just as the snake fears the Garud, the Devatas feared the Daynts and ran away from the battlefield like Hijras.  Harinakashyup roared in pride, seeing the Devatas run.  He took his gurj and went to the ocean where Varun Dev’s house was, taking the earth along with him.  He said to Varun Dev: “you call yourself a great warrior.  Get up and fight me.  I heard that you are strong.  You have defeated Daynts before.”  Varun Dev said: “I am not as strong as you.  Only Vishnu can defeat you in battle.  Go to the Patals and meet him.  You can have a good fight with him.  You can defeat him there.”  This is the Katha of Harinakashyup, Mardana.  Now listen to how Varaah came to be.  First of all, Manu and Satroopa were born from Brahma.  This man and woman had good qualities.  They said to their father: “listen to our request, Pitha ji, tell us a Seva.  This is the best tradition for a son and a student.  To love the command of the Guru and Pitha is the way of the son.  Oh master, we are your children.  Command us.  Be compassionate on us.”  Vidhata (Brahma) heard this and said: “listen son, I am really happy with you.  Live as man and wife in a good way.  If you ask for a Seva then I wish for you to live with love.  Give birth to sons from your body and earn the kingdom of earth with Dharma.  Do Yagnas and do Pooja of Vishnu.  Protect your subjects.  The ones who don’t do Pooja and impress Sri Prabhoo ji, they are fools and slandered in the world.  To do the Pooja and serve the subjects, this is a big Seva for me.”  Manu heard this and said: “your command is on my forehead.  Myself along with the subjects cannot live because the earth is inside the water.  How will I rule?  How will I establish the people and protect them?  If it is your wish to rule the earth, how can the earth be saved?”  Brahma ji thought about this: “I drank a lot of water when I was made and the earth became naked.  I made the people in a beautiful way.  The water has covered the earth again.  There is too much water.  How can I take the earth out?  I need to make more colourful creations.  When I was born from the lotus of Vishnu’s navel, Bhagavan told me to create the world.  I can’t create it now.  The Jagdeesh needs to help now.”

When Brahma ji was worried, from his nostrils, Varaah was born, who was the support of the earth.  When he first came out, he was as big as a thumb.  He climbed the sky and grew his body really big.  The Devatas were surprised to see the Avatar of Vishnu.  They saw him and shouted: “Jai!”  Varaah snorted like a boar.  He sniffed like a boar to find the earth.  His tusks were white like the moon.  His tail was strong.  He lifted his tail up.  The hair on his shoulders were thick.  His tusks scattered the clouds around.  The Devatas saw Varaah.  Varaah went into the ocean.  His body was as strong as the anvil.  It as though he broke the belly of the ocean.  He separated the water and headed to the Rasatal.  He went to where the Bhagavan had previously slept.  He picked up the earth on top of his tusks.  He then took the earth upwards.  His body was really strong.

Hirankashap met Varaah on the way.  Varaah had the earth on his tusks.  He was like a strong elephant.  The Daynt saw this and made his eyes red with anger.  He spoke harsh words: “Brahma has given me the Rasatal.  Leave the earth here or else I will kill you.”  He said this and swung his gurj towards Varaah.  He made the earth fall.  The Devatas stood in the sky and were surprised.  They were upset and screamed in agony.  They saw the battle of Harinakashyup and Hari.  They saw Hari had no weapon.  Harinakashyup stayed in his place, observing the Dharma of battle, not to strike someone with no weapons, he did not fight Varaah.  Sri Varaah ji called for his Chakram.  The Chakram shined like millions of suns.  When Harinakashyup saw the Chakram, he came close and fought a fierce battle.  He swung his gurj with all his might in anger.  Varaah held the moving gurj easily like the Garud catching the snake.  The Raja of the Daynts saw us fruitless strike and used his Asuri powers.  He made the wind blow.  He made it rain.  The clouds were black and thick.  Lightening flashed.  Bones, blood, Paak, hair, feces and urine rained in the rain by the illusion of the Daynts.  The Daanavs came fighting and yelled: “kill them!”  They struck to pierce and cut.  Seeing this Maya of the Daynts, Sri Varaah ji made his Chakram shine.  The illusion was destroyed in an instant.  He then roared along with Harinakashyup.  The Daynt struck his gurj on Varaah’s body.  Varaah’s body was red with blood.  They then wrestled each other.  They hit each other with fists, making noises like the lightening.  Sri Bhagwant ji was in a lot of anger.  He punched Harinakashyup in the head.  Harinakashyup spun and fell to the ground, like a tree being uprooted by the strong winds.  Just as Brithrasur was killed by Inder, that’s how he fell.  His hair was scattered out.  Sri Prabhoo ji killed the Daynt.  The Devatas all shouted: “Dhan!”  The sounds of “Jai, Jai, Jai,” could be heard.  The Devatas showered Varaah with flowers with joy.  Varaah brought the earth back to its place.  The Devatas bowed and sang the praises of Varaah.”  Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji told the Katha of Varaah in this way.  Bhai Mardana ji was happy to hear the Katha.  We then move on ahead with our travels.
