Panth Parkash II Part 21 – 30

Part 21 The Sakhi of Bhai Sukha Singh ji Continues III

Since Bhai Mani Singh ji was arrested, the Sikhs were not allowed to come.  They would bathe in the Sarovar during the night and leave before sunrise.  The Qazi, Abdul Razak said: “the Sikhs live because they receive powers from Amritsar.  It’s the radiance of Amritsar.  We killed many and got tired of it.  They didn’t finish.”  The Turks guarded at night as well.  The Turks made towers around the Sarovar to keep watch.  They had gunmen sit in the towers.  If they saw the Amrit move, they fired bullets there to kill the people.  They fired many bullets at once.  The Singhs then bathed slowly.  They put dust into the eyes of the Turks.  The Qazi got angry.  He increased the guards.  The leader of the guards was proud.  He wrote to the Khalsa: “you call yourself Singhs, the great warriors, the beloveds of the Guru.  I will call you warriors if you came and bathe in the Amritsar Sarovar now.”  The Khalsa read this and stayed quiet.  They did not respond to the letter.  Bhai Sukha Singh ji then spoke to the messenger: “get ready and stay alert.  Now the Khalsa will come!  You can tell your spies that I will come during the day!”  The Turks got worried with this response.  They kept guards upon every tower.  They hoped the Singhs wouldn’t come.  They said to themselves: “the Singhs won’t come here.  Who would come here?  We don’t let anyone stay here at night.  We don’t let birds drink water during the water.”  The guards increased 10 times.

They knew the Singh was going to come.  Bhai Sukha Singh ji said: “if I bathe at night, that is like theft.  I will bathe during the day with the blessing of the Satguru.”  The Khalsa was happy with this.  They did an Ardaas: “the Satguru will be with you, brother.  This is a difficult task.  Nobody can help you.”  Bhai Sukha Singh ji tied a Mundhasa on his head over his Dumaalaa, covering his face like Turks.  He held a kamaan in his hand.  When it was around 4 pm, Bhai Sukha Singh ji, dressed as a Turk, came by the way of Lahore.  He wanted them to think it was a soldier from Lahore.  He came from the Saran place.  He came to the Sarovar to drink Amrit.  He kept his horse there and gave him Amrit as well.  Both took a dip in the Sarovar.  He wanted to tell the Turks he was a Sikh.  He took his Dumalla off to show his hair.  Nihang Singhs remember Sukha Singh ji and take a dip there with their head uncovered.  The Turks saw Bhai Sukha Singh ji’s long hair and realised it was a Singh and not a Turk.  His horse took a bath as well.  The Turks yelled: “he is a Hindu!  He’s not a Mussalmaan!”  Bhai Sukha Singh ji yelled out: “Akaal!”  He took another dip and came out of the Sarovar.  He jumped upon his horse and challenged the Turks: “come in front of me and stop me.  If you love your life, then stay out of my way and run away.”  When the Singh took out his sword and made it shine in the light, nobody came to challenge him.  They run away and left his path open.  When his horse ran, the Turks fired arrows and bullets.  Nothing hit Bhai Sukha Singh ji.  The horse went far.  The Turks couldn’t catch him.  In this way, his play was done.

Part 22 The Sakhi of Mataab Kot

The Navaab found out about Bhai Sukha Singh ji’s mission to Amritsar.  The Navaab sent soldiers to call the leaders of Punjab.  Listen from Rattan Singh what the Navaab said.  I will write what proclamations he did.  He got tired of giving pain to the Singhs.  He wanted the people to go after them. The Singhs looted Bahaaval, Punjab, Kashmir, Peshawar and the Pahari areas.  The Navaab said: “don’t leave any person with hair.”  These commands were sent everywhere.  Everyone accepted the Navaab’s command.  It was hard for the Singhs to live now.  The Singhs left the areas.  They had no place to stay now.  Some stayed at Mataab Kot which was a cave near the river.  The spies saw the Singhs and said to the soldiers: “we will show you prey.  Go and hunt them.  They are hungry, naked and without weapons.  They are tired from running and without strength.  Come and arrest them right away.  They were arrested and taken to Lahore.  They received a lot of rewards from the Navaab.  They said: “go and find more.”  The administrator of the army got ready and went to find more.  He said: “I will find them like hunting rabbits.”  He came to Mataab Kot to catch more Singhs.  He saw the few Singhs and got egotistical: “these paupers are here.  I have come to catch them.  I brought a lot of soldiers to catch them.”  The administrator said to the army: “don’t let anyone go.  Surround them at once.  Kill them from every direction.  If someone escapes, I won’t let anyone from that direction go.  I will kill you by burying you into the ground.”  The army heard and surrounded the Singhs.  They saw that the Singhs were few.  Some Singhs were sleeping and some had gone to relieve themselves.  Some went to get grass for their horses.  Some went to get firewood to cook food.  Some were hungry and laying slanted on the ground.  Some wanted cannabis and wanted to stand up.  The soldiers saw the Singhs hungry and naked.  The Turks were happy to see this.  They surrounded them with joy like a wedding party meeting the other side.  They first fired with bullets and then shot their arrows.  They then took spears and swords.  Some Singhs were killed.  Their wisdom was forgotten.  They didn’t know what to do.  The Turks attacked like Jums; like lightening hit them.  The Singhs didn’t lose hope.  The Singhs that were first seen by the Turks, they were killed.  The ones that fought, they didn’t get scared.  They fought.  Where one Singh stood, he kept many Turks there and didn’t let them go forward.  They didn’t expect help.  They were ready to die.  They didn’t care how they fought.  The Singhs that were surrounded by the Turks, they attacked like lions with swords.  They would help other Singhs in trouble and die themselves.  They helped each other out.  The ones from the outside came inside to help.  The Singhs attacked after doing Ardaas.  They knew that whoever showed their backs was a coward.  The ones who attack face on and die, they receive kingdoms in both worlds.  The ones that went to the jungle, they heard the bullets firing.  They came back without doubt.  They came to die.  The whole night was spent fighting.  It was morning for the Singhs.  The Turks were tired of fighting.  The Master helped the Khalsa.  One Singh was alone who saw the leader of the army.  He pulled out his sword and cut the head off of the leader.  He was the Turk who brought an army to kill the Singhs.  He died.  The Turks ran away.  The Singhs took their weapons and horses.  The Singhs were happy with this.  The Singhs got wealth by sitting down and resting.  The dead Singhs were placed into the river.  By sunrise, more Singhs came and joined them.  They were double.  The Khalsa is a vast ocean of water, a bottomless pit.  The Khalsa is never-ending.  When one died, ten more came.  They said they were happy when they were in pain.  The called onions, Rupa (silver).  The mortar is called a Sunehra (golden).  If the Langar was finished, they said it was Mastana (carefree).

Part 23 The Sakhi of Sri Khalsa.  The State of the Singhs

In this way the Singhs tolerated pain.  The Singhs lived in the land.  Sometimes they gathered and sometimes they separated.  The spies hunted and killed them.  The Singhs were lions at night but hid during the day.  The Singhs weren’t afraid of numbers.  They attacked in small numbers.  Where the Turks set up their Dheras at night, the Singhs attacked and looted them.  They robbed them at night and ran away.  That’s how they ate.

Part 24 The Sakhi of Sher Bhagyaar

Listen to the Sakhi of the Singhs who were surrounded in ditches.  The Singhs lived in the ditch of panthers.  Listen to their names: from my village of Meera Kot, Bhai Ladda Singh.  He was a Bhangoo and my Thaya.  He went to the foreign land and regretted it.  Nobody gave him a loan.  They called him a thief and didn’t let him stay in their village.  The Singhs lived in the ruins and jungles; people called them dacoits.  The villagers hunted them down.  They left them hungry.  The Singhs left their lands.  Some came back to their land.  Foreign lands were worse.  They hid in their own lands.  There was a ditch of panthers.  The Singhs dug it deeper.  The Turks thought panthers lived there.  The Singhs killed the panthers and lived there themselves.  The Singhs were like owls, nocturnal.  The Singhs went home at night.  They would eat at home.  They brought food in the morning.  If other Singhs came, they fed them first and then ate.  If someone didn’t have flour, they fed them and stayed hungry.  The strong Singhs would run at night.  They would bring vegetables at night.  They looted at night.  Whose parents had food, they ate at night.  The Singhs lived in the panthers’ ditch.  The spies found out.  They told the Turks.  The Turks came to attack.  The Turks stood on one side.  They saw the Singhs.  There were only 3 Singhs.  Bhai Ladda Singh ji Bhangoo was there.  Bhai Ram Singh ji Lamma Hayer and Bhai Sulakhan Singh ji Gill; the 3 were there.  The Turks saw them go there.  The Turks wanted to kill them.  The Singhs remained inside.   They had their Tulwars and Bugdas.  They were ready to fight.  They had 2 days of food.  They had dug a well there.  The Turks couldn’t get them.  The Turks decided: “fire many bullets so there is smoke.  They will faint with the smoke.  We will take them out and kill them.”  The Turks fired a lot of bullets.  They made smoke in the ditch.  It was blinding.  The Singhs couldn’t breathe.  They tried to stop the smoke.  They had some clothes and covered the mouth of the ditch.  The Turks then said: “lets have the ditch dug.”  They brought the villagers and had them dig with shovels.  The people dug but were hit by the Singhs.  Their shovels broke.  They went to the Tarkhaans to fix the shovels.  It was soon night.  The Turks went to the their Dhera to eat.  They then decided: “we will light a fire.”  The fire burnt the clothes.  The Singhs then brought wet soil and stopped the front.  They were safe still.  It was night.  The people tried to scare the Turks.  They said: “what if the Singhs attack at night?”  They left the post.  The good village people extinguished the fire and told the Singhs to leave.  The Singhs were in such a painful state.  The 3 Singhs told me this Sakhi when I was a child.  I, Rattan Singh, wrote it as I heard it.  This was just one Sakhi, there were many such events that never got recorded or heard.  Many Sakhis didn’t end well.  Khatris, Kalaals, Tarkhaans, Jatts; these castes were blessed with kingdoms by Guru Gobind Singh ji.

Part 25 The Sakhi of Subegh Singh Jambher

Bhai Subegh Singh Jambher had a deep faith in Sikhi.  His father was a great Sikh of the Satguru as well.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji studied Farsi at the Madrassa as a child and studied Law in court.  He was an Ajara for the Mughal Administration that took contracts for construction.  He lived in Lahore.  The Turks would send him to speak to the Khalsa when required.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji was an honest householder who worked for a living.  The Turks would send him to negotiate terms with the Khalsa.  The Khalsa saw him as a good Sikh.  They honoured his advice.  When an important task would come up of the Turks, they would send him by doing a Salaam to him.  Many times, he was sent to the Singhs to speak.  The Singhs did Ardaas for his well-being.  The Singhs trusted him that he would never do bad for the Panth.  The Khalsa looked at the Turks with scolding eyes sometimes and sometimes they needed to get their task done from then.  Sometimes they used their strength and sometimes they cheated.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji would tell the Khalsa the secrets of the Turks.  He was always on the side of the Panth.  He was ready to sacrifice his body, wealth and mind for the Panth.  He didn’t love his son or grandson as much as he loved the Panth.  Bhai Subegh Singh Jambher was a stubborn Hatti Jappi Tappi.  Listen to the history as the Turks did to him.

Bhai Subegh Singh ji Jambher was arrested along with his son Bhai Shabaz Singh ji.  The Navaab said: “come into the Deen now.  You cannot continue on being a Sikh.  You can take land, money or work.  Otherwise you will die.  You will be crushed upon the Charkhari.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji said: “great is the Charkhari and great is this time!  Put us on the Charkhari and break us.  Don’t delay this.  We are known as the Sikhs of the Guru and are ready to die for the Guru.  Great are you Navaab and great is your Deen.  You are the great justice and law maker.  You are wise, you should have known that we are not afraid.  You want to scare us and convert us into the Deen?  If I enter the Deen, will I not die again?  If we convert to Islam and will still die then what is the point?  Why should we leave our Dharam then?  If we come into the Deen out of fear of death, death can still come to us.  It only makes sense if we were not to die again.  Just as you love the Deen, in the same way, we love the Panth.  Take us to the Charkhari today.  We are ready to die now.  Kill us now.  Don’t delay.  We will not become Mussalmaans.  We will carry on with our Dharam.”  The Navab then commanded: “take him to the Charkhari.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji was spun on the Charkhari many times.  He did not forget Vahiguru.  As he chanted Guru from his mouth, he yelled out Akaal Akaal!  The Navaab heard this and became angry.  He said: “spin it more!  Make him quiet!”  The Singh yelled out louder.  He did not forget the name of the Satguru.  The Navaab said: “take him off.  Put his son on the Charkhari in front of him.  This should bother him.”  The Chandaal then brought Bhai Shabaaz Singh ji and tied him to the Charkhari.  He spun him a lot, breaking his bones.  They showed Bhai Subegh Singh ji this.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji said: “you are great son!  This day is great!  You are great that carried out his Dharma.  Great is the person who wishes for the feet of the Guru.”

The Navaab had the son taken off the Charkhari.  He gave him pain and then spoke to him, deeming him as stubborn: “you are a child and aren’t mature enough.  You don’t have knowledge.  Why are you losing your life over stubbornness?  Your father has seen life as much as he wanted to.  You still have days to see in life.  You have eaten and drank less.  What will your Dharma do for you if you die?  If you become a Mussalmaan you will get a lot of Jageers.  Till the word remains, we will rule and nobody will say anything to you.”  The Navaab said this to Subegh Singh: “save your son from the sword.  If you keep your son, your lineage will survive.  Tell him to say the Kalima.  We will kill you and your village.  We will keep your son.  Then I will tell you how to save your son.  I want to save your son.  You should tell him too.  If your son remains then only will your family survive.  If the son dies, the family dies.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji spoke: “Navaab, you speak the truth.  I ate your salt.  I don’t speak harsh about you.  You are our boss.  I have given the wisdom to my son.  They won’t change.  We will remain in the form of our Satguru.  We have no hope of life.  It can’t be trusted.  Death can come anytime.  Will he survive later if he is saved today?  There are many excuses to die.  If the Dharam remains while the body dies, this is a good bargain.  We will keep our Dharam till we are alive.  What is life without Dharam?  Death is inevitable.  Our Guru did everything for us.  He gave his family for us.  He sacrificed all 4 of his sons.  He sacrificed them to Chandi.  He gave his family for us.  If we keep our family, what’s the greatness in this?”  They argued more.  The Navaab thought to himself: “he is teaching his son.  He is stubborn so he doesn’t convert.  I should separate the son from the father.  Both should be tortured.  When the boy is in pain, he will forget his Guru and Peer.  I should give him pain.  I will tempt him with money, wealth and Jageers.”  They tortured the boy.  They pulled his legs and hung him upside down.  They hurt him physically and spun him by one leg.  They pulled his arm and pulled him down.  They poked him with teeth and nails.  They spoke nonsense to him.  They pulled his nose and ear.  They broke his teeth.  Some said he is crazy.  They said: “take his skin off.”  They tortured Bhai Shabaaz Singh ji.  They gave him all the pain they could.  They kept him hungry.  The Navaab said: “put him on the Charkhari.  Kill him.”  They got tired of torturing him.  They had no other choice.  The boy fainted.  The Chandaal came and said: “the boy is about to die.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji heard this and was happy.  He said: “the Satguru kept our honour.  The boy is great and so is his mother.  Our Dharam survived.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji thought of this.  The Navaab called for water.  Bhai Shahbaaz Singh ji was splashed with water. He was given some to drink.  He gained some awareness.  The soldiers spoke sweetly to him: “you have been given a new life.  You are innocent if you come to the Deen.  The Hindus who became Mussalmaans, the Navaab has given them great titles.”  They said to the boy: “become a Mussalmaan.”  Bhai Shahbaaz Singh ji had a little awareness.  He was partially fainted, in and out, when he nodded to what he did not hear clearly.  The Navaab was happy to hear that the boy had agreed to come into the Deen.  They tortured him and made him agree to something he didn’t want to do.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji heard this.  He was surprised and upset at this news.  The Navaab called Bhai Subegh Singh ji and said: “look your son is coming into the Deen.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji said to his son: “son!  What happened?”  Bhai Shahbaaz Singh ji said: “I couldn’t tolerate the pain.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji saw his son’s broken teeth and signs of torture and went quiet.  He thought: “what just happened?  Let me see him properly.  Let me see why he his ready to read the Kalima and leave the Guru’s name.”  He said: “Navaab, bring my son to him.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji said to his son: “why do you want to forget the name of the Satguru?  Did someone use the sword on you.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji looked at his son’s forehead with his divine vision and noticed that his son’s Karma had the destiny to become a Mussalmaan in it.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji was upset and shook his head.  He saw that some bad Karma of his son came forward.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji held his son’s head and saw the lines on the forehead that showed he was to become a Mussalmaan.  He took off his own shoe and touched his son’s forehead with his own foot, saying Akaal Akaal!”  He said: “Satnam Karta Purakh.”  The destiny to become a Mussalmaan was erased forever from Bhai Shahbaaz Singh ji’s forehead.  The Khalsa destroyed the bad Karma forever.  It changed to remaining a Khalsa.  There is no doubt that the Khalsa can do this.  The saints can erase such lines if they wish.  The saints can flip any Karma.  The Navaab saw this and said: “what did you do Subegh Singh?  You touched your foot to your son’s forehead.”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji said: “I have erased the Karma from my son’s forehead.”  The Navaab said: “this is a lie!”  Bhai Subegh Singh ji said: “ask my son again.”  The Navaab went to Bhai Shahbaaz Singh ji and put him upright.  The boy had become harsher and didn’t care for his body.  The Navaab spoke: “oh boy, become a Mussalmaan!  Read the Kalima and I will spare your life!”  The boy spoke: “my Kalima is beloved to me which the Satguru has given me.  I have taken the Satnam from the Guru.  The Guru gave me the Kalima of Vahiguru.”  The Navaab got angry and said: “beat the boy!”  He was tortured 4 times more than before.  The boy was at peace as he was in pain just as Prahlaad did not feel any pain.  The boy was at peace.  As the boy was hurt, he was more at peace.  The Turks got tired of hitting him.  They were out of ideas.  The Navaab thought: “the father has done some magic on the boy.”  He called the Qazi and Mullahs and said: “remove the magic upon him.  Use your Kalaams so becomes a Mussalmaan.”  The Qazis got tired using their Ilams.  Nothing worked upon the Khalsa.  They became upset.  The Navaab got tired torturing him.  He couldn’t figure out the greatness of the Guru or the Guru’s Sikhs.  The Navaab called both father and son.  He stopped torturing them and took them to jail.  I, Rattan Singh, wrote it as I heard it.  Bhai Subegh Singh ji’s honour was saved by the Guru.  This was the Sakhi of Bhai Subegh Singh ji.  It was 1802 Vikram when the Sakhi of Bhai Subegh Singh ji and Bhai Shahbaaz Singh ji occurred, oh saints.  I heard this from my father, Bhai Rai Singh ji.  I, Rattan Singh, wrote it as I heard it.  As much as I heard it, I wrote it.  Listen to a new Sakhi now.

Part 26 The Sakhi of Bhai Taru Singh ji Bhujhangi Bedahi Shaheed

Listen to the Sakhi of Bhai Taru Singh ji with your focussed minds.  He was the one who took the Khan Bahadhur from this world (by the force of his shoe) by having his scalp taken off.  Bhai Taru Singh ji lived in the Poola Village in Majha.  He was a Nihang Singh who was chaste and a determined Tappi.  As the death of the Navaab came close, the Navaab began to commit bigger sins.  It was 1802 Vikram when Bhai Taru Singh ji did his Sakka.

The Navaab asked the public: “where do the Singhs get their food from?  I have blocked their incomes.  There is no way they can raise money or plough their fields.  They can’t work nor can they plant food.  The offerings offered at the Gurduaras, I made sure the Singhs don’t get that.  Nobody does an Ardaas to the Gurus now.  I have blocked all of the paths to income for the Singhs.  How are they not dying from hunger?  The Singhs cannot find food or water.  The army searches for them in groups.  When the army finds the Singhs, they kill them at sight.  In the villages that had Singhs, I destroyed the whole village.  They have left their Desh.  They will change their forms for hunger.  I have killed the relatives and friends of the Singhs.  I found them in ditches and killed them.  The Mughals are the hawks and the Singhs are like sparrows.  The Mughals have killed many Singhs by surrounding them.  Nobody can live without food.  How are they alive without food?  How can one live off of leaves and spinach?  They can live but they can’t run or fight.”  One corrupt person spoke: “the Singhs are not hungry.  They get food.  There are Sikhs in this land who feed the Singhs first and then eat.”  Harbhagat Niranjani then said: “this person speaks the truth.  There are such Singhs now that feed the Singhs before they drink water themselves.  They tolerate nakedness and hunger but can’t tolerate the pain of the Singhs.  They go through the cold months by lighting fires but send clothes to the Singhs.  Some grind flour as work and send it to the Singhs.  Some do work and send their earnings to the Singhs.  The educated Sikhs travel far for work.  They give their earnings to the Singhs.  The Singhs that live in foreign lands, they send money to the beloveds of the Guru.”  The Navaab heard this and shook his head.  He said: “this Panth is a very difficult one.  They don’t die by us trying the to kill them.  Only Khuddah can kill them.”  The Navaab said to his people: “show me such a Sikh who sends food and money to the Sikhs.  I will kill them.”  Harbhagat Niranjani then said: “in Majha, there is a village called Poola.  A person by the name of Taru Singh farms there.  He pays taxes just like other villages pay.  He pays his taxes and eats less.  Whatever food and grains he is left with, he sends it to the Singhs.  He lives with his sister and mother.  They make a living by grinding grains for others.  They eat whatever dry and old food they have.  They wear thick khaddar and eat less.  They stay weak like this.  Whatever they save, they give to the Singhs.  They don’t serve anyone else besides the Singhs.  When they hear the Bhaang of the Salaat, they close their ears.  They do not eat Rote or Sheernis of other Peers.  They do the Shabad Chownki of their Guru’s Bani.  They do not fear death.  They do not go close to Ganga or Jamuna.  They bathe in the pools of their Guru’s places.  They call the Jagan Nath, the Toonda (the handicap without hands).  They do not chant Ram or Krishan.  They only travel at night and stay home during the day, staying away from the sight of the Turks.  They carry the food atop of their heads and take it to the Singhs.  There is another whose name is Mehtaab Singh.  His village is Mira Kot.  Since he had killed Massa Rangar, he left his village and now lives in the jungles.  Sometimes he comes close to his village and sometimes he goes far (towards Bikaner, Jaipur and Jodhpur).  He loots the Chaudharys and rich people to give to the Singhs.  20 to 50 Singhs remain with him all the time.  Whoever he marks, he loots them.  He asks from some and threatens others to take.  He takes taxes from the people like the government does.  Whoever doesn’t pay him, he burns their wells.”  The Navaab said to Harbhagat: “bring me Mehtaab Singh.  He has a lot of Singhs with him.  Take an army with you.  Taru Singh is alone so the Ahdeeyas can bring him.  Only 20 soldiers are enough to get him.  Keep a strict eye on him when you bring him.”  As the Navaab said, the soldiers did.  To capture the two Singhs, the soldiers set off.  The Ahdeeyas captured Bhai Tari Singh ji and his family.  Near the Poola Village, there was another village named Bhadaanay.  That is where the post was held by the soldiers.  The people heard that Bhai Taru Singh ji was arrested.  The people of the villages came there.  The Ahdeeyas got mad at the people who came to visit Bhai Taru Singh ji.  The police hit the villagers and pushed them back.  The villagers paid money to the Ahdeeyas so they could visit Bhai Taru Singh ji and his sister.  They met Bhai Taru Singh ji and saw his sister, Bibi Taro.  They had the sister and the mother released by paying the police a bribe.  There was Gursikhi in Bhadaanay and they were angry at the arrest.  They said: “let’s have Bhai Taru Singh ji released.  We will see what happens next.”  They made a decision and came to tell Bhai Taru Singh ji: “we will kill the Ahdeeyas.  They will destroy our village but we don’t care.  The greatest Dharam is to have the Singhs released.  It is 100 times better than having cows and Brahmins released.”  The villagers got ready with their plan.  Bhai Taru Singh ji heard of this and stopped them: “I am not one to run away from death.  I wish to die at the door of the Mughals.  The Gurus gave their heads for us Sikhs.  They sacrificed their sons and grandsons.  To make the Panth grow, the Gurus sacrificed their own families.  We are part of the Panth of such Gurus.  How can we run away from death?  To keep the Panth, Guru ji did many tasks.  He tolerated the death of his own sons and tolerated a lot of pain.  What the Satguru said, the other Gurus followed, of the promise he made to Babar.  He gave his head to take the kingdom back.  From the 4th Babar (Jahangir), the Satguru sacrificed his body.  He sold himself upon that promise.  If a Hindu wanted the kingdom, they would have had to give their head to take it.  Without giving their heads, they would not get the kingdom.  This was Guru ji’s promise.  When the Turks would give pain to the Hindus, Guru ji gave their head to take the kingdom back.  Sri Guru Angad Dev ji was told this by Guru Nanak Dev ji.  Guru Angad Dev ji told this to Guru Amardas ji who told Guru Ramdas ji.  Guru Ramdas ji told this to Guru Arjan Dev ji.  Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji took it upon his head and sacrificed himself.  Guru Hargobind Sahib ji and Guru Har Rai ji carried this promise.  There wasn’t a chance seen to get the kingdom back then.  Guru Har Krishan ji was in Delhi and gave his body for the Turks.  Sri Guru Tegh Bahadhur Sahib ji gave his head for Guru Nanak Dev ji’s promise.  He went himself to Delhi and put his head under the Tulwar of the Turks.  Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji, the warrior, he followed the words of Guru Nanak Dev ji and sacrificed his own body along with his whole family.  They all sold themselves upon the words of Guru Nanak Dev ji.  He gave his own sons to the Chandi.  He made the Turks guilty.  Their deaths were upon the heads of the Turks.  Only one can survive: either the family or the Panth.  In one sheath two knives cannot fit.  On one throne, two kings cannot sit.  In Kaliyuga, this cannot happen.”  The Sikhs asked Bhai Taru Singh ji: “how did Guru ji give his head?”  Bhai Taru Singh ji said: “Satguru ji spoke from his mouth so how can it be erased?  His words are written in the great court.  Satguru ji gave his head for his Sikhs.  We are those Sikhs of the Guru.  How can we keep our heads then?”  The Sangat of Budhaana were surprised and said: “what was the time when these words were said?  Why did Guru Nanak Dev ji say this?  Please tell us the reason.  Guru ji had no shortage of anything.  He was the master of millions of kingdoms.  The Ridhis and Siddhis were always standing in front of him.  Sarasvati lived in his mouth.  Sri Akaal Purakh ji was always with him.  All of the Devatas, Ann (food) Devata would distribute Langar.  Kuber, the treasurer came to Guru ji and filled his treasury.  The Kalapbrish, Ganga and all of the rivers were under Guru ji’s command.”  Bhai Taru Singh ji responded: “only the Guru knows his ways.  We can’t know the end of his ways.  Only the Guru knows his secrets.”

Part 27 The Sakhi of Babar

“As Bhasmantar was given a promise by Shiv; Guru Nanak Dev ji gave a promise to Babar by being carefree.  Listen oh saints, the beloveds of the Guru: I will tell you how much pain Guru ji tolerated by giving Babar the kingdom.  The words that Guru ji said, he fulfilled them.  He tolerated pain for the Sikhs.  When Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji took an Avatar, he blessed many Sikhs and made them happy.  If someone did even a little bit of Seva, they received a lot of gifts at that moment.  The ones who did his Darshan with a pure mind, they received whatever wish they had in their minds.  The ones who sat in their own homes in Dhyana of the Guru, their wishes were also fulfilled.  Everyone’s wishes were fulfilled, that came into their minds.  Nobody left empty from the Satguru’s radiance.  His Avatar came to the Talwandi of Rai Bhao.  Guru Nanak Dev ji was born there.  He was a child there.  Whoever visited him as a child, they became the Viziers of Delhi.  Rai Bhullar became the Vizier-e-Azam of Hindustan.  Both father and son were Sikhs of Guru Nanak Dev ji.  They knew he was the Satguru.  The Vizier was in Delhi.  Daulat Khan Lodhi was a Pathaan in Sultanpur.  He was the Navaab of Sultanpur, the Faujdaar.  Satguru ji was his Modi.  He saw Guru ji’s powers.  He had two wives.  They had no sons and were getting old.  They heard of Guru ji’s glory after the incident of telling the Maulvi that he was thinking of his horse in his home; and Guru ji disappearing into the Vein River.  The Pathaanis came to Guru Nanak Dev ji to the cemetery where he was seated.  They requested Guru ji for sons.  Satguru ji blessed both the Pathaanis with two sons each.  Guru ji told them the names before they were born: Ghazi Khan, Gaj Mast Khan, Mir Khan and Jaul Khan.  When the four brothers grew up, they all went to Delhi and received Navaabis.  They were Sikhs who recited Japji Sahib everyday.  At that time the Lodhi Pathaans were in power (Ludhiana was settled by the Lodhi Khans).  The Badshah was Sikander Shah Lodhi who was blind in one eye.  When he died, his son Bairam (Ibrahim) Khan became the emperor and sat on top of the Delhi throne.  The young boys who were his childhood friends, he made them all Soobas.  They weren’t able to handle the administrative work of their Soobas.  They declared the old Soobas as rebels and said they are sabotaging their work.  Bairam Khan became egotistical.  He killed all of the previous Soobas and administrators.  He also had the 4 sons of Daulat Khan arrested as they were wise and tried to talk sense into the emperor.  The Badshah did as he pleased and didn’t like to be told what to do.  Bairam Khan had Mir Khan and Jaul Khan bricked alive.  The other two brothers: Gaj Mast Khan and Ghaazi Khan were killed with a sword.  Seeing this, the Vizier-e-Azam, Rai Bhoay (the son of Rai Bhullaar, who was also a Sikh), said to Bairam Khan: “this was a very bad thing you did.  Without the old warriors, you can’t run the country.  They were your own people.”  He spoke the truth but Bairam Khan took that as an offensive advice.  He had Rai Bhoay killed as well.  His sins were spoken about.  A Dervish Hakeem came to the Badshah and sung a Pauri: “oh Meer, you killed Bhoay and opened the floodgates of your kingdom.”  Some of the wise officers were killed and the others quit.  The young emperor was egotistical and people came to know that he wouldn’t last long.  When Meeya Bhooa was killed, the Darbars were closed.  The whole court began to fear the Badshah after the Vizier’s death.  Everyone lost hope of their lives.  The Shah was like Judgement Day.  Some ran away, some hid and some rebelled.  Some were killed, some quit.  The army dispersed.  Just before Daulat Khan’s sons were about to be killed, they sent a messenger to their father from jail: “the egotistical Bairam Khan will kill your innocent sons.  We will be dead by the time you get this message.  Run away towards Kabul.  The Badshah will have you killed as well.  Avenge our deaths if you can.  If you meet the Guru, your task will be fulfilled.  If he says the words, you will be victorious.  He is omniscient.  Plead to him of what happened to his Sikhs: “the sons you gave, the tyrant emperor killed them.”  When Daulat Khan got the message, he left Ludhiana (where he had settled after Sultanpur).  He found out that Guru Nanak Dev ji was in Ahmnabad.  Daulat Khan wore black and ran day and night.  He forgot to eat and drink.

Where Sri Satguru ji was doing his Tapp, on top of stones and rocks, Gurduara Sri Rori Sahib, Daulat Khan came there.  He fell atop Guru ji’s feet and pleaded for his help.  The Satguru was omniscient and knew everything already.  To keep his Sikh’s honour, Satguru ji listened to his plea.  Daulat Khan spoke the facts.  Satguru ji patiently and quietly heard the whole series of events.  He didn’t respond hastily to Daulat Khan.  Daulat Khan kept pleading for help.  He took off his Pugh and placed it upon Guru ji’s feet.  He said: “I have come to your shelter.  You can either kill me or give me life.  Bairam has killed your Sikhs.  I call to you for help.  For the sake of your own Sikhs, for their honour; take the kingdom of Hindustan away from the Pathaans.  The Pathaans have become cannibals.  Take the kingdom away from the Pathaans.  Either take the kingdom for yourself or give it to your sons.  The great kingdom of Hindustan, keep it in your home.”  Satguru ji said: “listen Daulat Khan, I don’t need kingdoms.  What is the kingdom of Hindustan?  I have rejected the Kingdom of millions upon billions.  I am the giver of kingdoms.  Akaal Purakh sent me as the Badshah of Kaliyuga.  These kingdoms carry pains.  The Bhagti of Hari is filled with joy.  The kingdom you speak of, what will I do with it?  What will people say?  That I rejected the kingdom first and eventually took it later on?  People love this kind of spicy news.”  Daulat Khan lost hope hearing this.  He stopped pleading to Guru ji to take the kingdom.  He then spoke: “if you won’t take the kingdom then take it away from the Pathaans and give it to the Mughals.”  Guru ji said: “you want me to say the words so the Mughals can rule?  What if you would regret this later?  The Pathaans will not become kings again, even if they tried.”  Daulat Khan accepted this: “don’t give the kingdom again to the Pathaans.  Take it away from them.  Even if they don’t get it again.  This is my wish.  See me as your Sikhs and fulfill my wish.”  Satguru ji said: “it shall be so.  You will regret this later.  Go to Kabul and have Babar attack.  If he wishes to rule Hindustan, tell him to come speak to me.  If he doesn’t take my advice, then I will have a third attack.”  Daulat Khan heard this and became very happy.  He was happy, like his sons were alive again.

The day the enemy is defeated, it is like rain coming down during the drought; like a person who doesn’t have a son, receives a son.  Daulat Khan set off towards Kabul.  He dressed as a Fakir, hiding from Bairam Khan.  Bairam Khan was looking for Daulat Khan.  Bairam Khan’s sins were eating him and so he was looking for Daulat Khan.  Bairam Khan took a different way towards Kabul.  He eventually arrived and took his disguise off.  He came to Babar to meet him.  Babar was hard to meet, though.  He meditated upon the Satguru and then he finally met Babar, right away.  He met Babar as he thought of the Satguru.  Babar heard of the state of Hind.  He respected Daulat Khan.  Daulat Khan told Babar the secrets of Delhi: “the army is dispersed.  The Soobas have been killed.  Young boys are now the Soobas.  They are inexperienced and can’t run the administration.  They are killing their own people.  They are declaring the previous people as rebels and having them killed.  He killed all of the wise Soobas, warriors and Viziers.  The boys were unwise and made into Soobas.  They are now rich and powerful.  The ones that have survived, they have no hope of staying alive.  The states within the empire have been supressed as well.  The Marhathas of Dakhan are supressed.  His wisest Vizier was Bhoay who was really smart.  When he saw the Badshah act badly, he noticed that the country was heading into chaos.  He spoke wise words to the Shah: “you shouldn’t kill your own people.  The young can’t do the work of the elders.  You shouldn’t be killing the elder warriors.  The young can’t complete the tasks of the elders.”

Part 28 The Sakhi of Satsayay

“How can the younger do the tasks of the elders?  To make a nagara, you can’t kill 100 mice to make it.  You will need a camel to make it.”  Hearing this, the Shah had the Vizier killed.  He was my son.  The Shah killed his advisors for no reason.  The whole country is in shock.”  Babar heard Daulat Khan and got ready.  Babar’s Vizier stopped him and told him to think about it.

Part 29 The Sakhi of Satguru ji

The Vizier said: “Hindustan is the place of complete Peers.  They can surely assist the Badshah.  How can we win if a big Peer comes to help the Pathaan?  There is a Hindu Peer in Hind who is the Peer of Peers.  He took the powers of all of the Peers.  There has never been a more complete Peer than him.  Whoever tries to stop him, they are destroyed.  He sees Hindus and Mussalmaans as the same.  Both serve him.  Both have had their wishes fulfilled from his door.  He is the most powerful.  He stays in the court of Khuddah.  I have confirmed all of this.  Whatever comes out of his mouth becomes the truth.  If you wish to win the Hind, you will need his blessing and permission.  Till you don’t get his permission, don’t step foot into the Hind.”  Daulat Khan then spoke: “that Peer is my Peer, whom you speak of.  I came here by his permission.  You wish for his permission.  I came by his words.  I have made sure the Pathaans will lose the kingdom.  I told the Peer to do this.  I have come to give the kingdom to the Mughals.  I came to Kabul after seeing him.”  Babar heard this and then spoke: “how can the Hindu Peer give me the kingdom?  Our Rasool will give us the kingdom.  Only the Rasool can reach the court of Khuddah.  Our Rasool is the relative of Khuddah.  Whatever he wishes for, he can get from Khuddah.  I will seek the Rasool’s permission.  I will see your Peer.  I want to see if I like him.”  Daulat Khan spoke: “our Peer is the friend of Khuddah.  Come and do his Darshan.  Your mind will be satisfied by seeing him.”  Babar responded: “if the Hindu doesn’t convince me, I will punish him.  I will make him into a Mussalmaan or bury him into the ground.  If he is weak, I won’t let his feet stay.  The Hindus fear my name.  I am sure he will run away.  He will go and hide into the mountains.  If he is solid then he won’t run.  If he is weak, he will run away.  I will see if he is weak or solid.  I will see if he is true or false.”

Daulat Khan led the way and Babar came to Hind.  Satguru ji had the Rabab played and uttered a Shabad from his mouth.

Shabad.. Khorasan had become the master and Hindustan was put in fear..  The Karta was not guilty as it was the Mughals that came as the messengers of Death (Jumms)..

Daulat Dhan was made to lead the way.  Babar left the places occupied by Mussalmaans.  Babal attacked a village of the Pathaans which was called Saidpur (Ahmnabad).  The people of this village had disrespected Satguru ji.  For this reason, their whole village was destroyed and the men were killed.  Daulat Khan was called by Babar and commanded: “we have come to the Punjab of Guru Nanak Dev ji.  You told me that the Guru was in Ahmnabad.  Seeing the Giljas, did he run away out of fear or did he stay?  If he ran away, go and bring him.  I wish to speak to him.  I won’t do anything wrong with him.  I will give him a Jagir or anything else he wishes for.”  The fool did not know the greatness of the Guru.  Since when did the Satguru ever run away out of fear?  He is the Karta, the creator and sustainer of the universe.  Fearing the Satguru is how the whole universe receives joy.  Where the Satguru was doing the Tapp atop of stones and rocks, Rori Sahib; the earth may move, the Sumer Mountain may move but the Tapp of the Guru was still.  Daulat Khan spoke to the Shah about Guru ji.  Daulat Khan went to meet Guru ji.  When he saw the Tapp place of Guru ji from afar, he got off his horse and walked the rest of the way.  He bowed to Guru ji from afar.  He came to Guru ji and bowed to his feet.  He bowed and sat on his knees.  Satguru ji said: “lift your heard.”  Guru ji was omniscient.  He kept Daulat Khan’s honour and asked how he was.  Daulat Khan said: “by your blessing, my task was a success.  I spoke to Babar.  Babar wishes to meet you.”  Satguru ji said: “I will go to him myself.  If he comes here, his army will come and bother the saints and sadhoos with me.  I will go and see him myself.  What Babar wishes to speak to me about, I will talk to him.”

Where Babar did the Dhera, Satguru ji came there.  Guru ji said to Bhai Mardana ji: “tune your Rabab.”  Bhai Mardana ji played the Rabab.  When he played the Rabab, many soldiers from Babar’s army came to listen.  Babar heard the Keertan as well.  He wondered how Guru Nanak Dev ji came.  Daulat Khan said: “Guru ji had said he would come himself.”  Babar began to have some faith.  He called for his horse and wished to see Satguru ji.  Daulat Khan was asked by Babar: “what gift shall I take for the Peer?”  Daulat Khan said: “he is not one to take.  Everyone goes to him to take.  He has Meerees and Peerees.  You will see this when you go to him.”  The Shah then spoke: “one should never go empty-handed to beggars, Kings and Gurus.  If you go empty-handed to them, they don’t give you blessings then.”  Daulat Khan said: “take cannabis.  Present it to the Satguru.”  Babar had a bag filled with cannabis.  He got off his horse and presented it to Guru ji.  Satguru ji respected the Shah.  Satguru ji said: “why did you get angry at me when you left Kabul?  I didn’t stop you.  I have been sitting here on top of a rock.  What you thought of when you left, you wanted to punish me if you didn’t see any power.  Go ahead.  Punish me now.  You wanted to see if I was weak or strong.  You can do as you wish now.  If I am false or true, I am here.  You shouldn’t doubt anything till you see it for yourself.  You said: “if he his real, I will make him my Peer.  If the Hindu Peer is false, then I will kill him.”  Only the master is true.  Everything else is not.  You do not have the ability to see the truth.  Gurus, Peers, Badshahs and Shahs; many have been seen.  Many like you have tested.  You wanted to see miracles but I don’t show miracles.  Miracles are the root of apocalyptic times.  They distance you from the Rabb.  The one who has powers, why wouldn’t he become the king himself?  Your Rasool must have powers whom you consider accepting to Khuddah.  The one who shows miracles, the people bother them a lot.  The one who is close to Khuddah, they run away from miracles.  They don’t wish for the powers.  If you wish to see miracles, this is bad for you.  Miracles are with two ways: either it is a blessing or a curse.  If you do Seva then it is a blessing.  If you are stubborn then it becomes a curse.  Blessings and curses are the two colours of miracles.  Miracles take you away from Khuddah, regardless.  Curse is what Shahs do.  Kings snatch from others to eat.  If a Fakir shows miracles, he moves further away from Khuddah.”  Babar understood that.  He thought to himself: “what I thought when I left Kabul, he already knows it.  He is omniscient.  He told me my own thoughts.”  He did Guru ji’s Darshan and had faith: “he is close to Khuddah.  This is the truth.  There is no difference between him and Khuddah.  I will ask him for the kingdom of Hindustan.  His boon will be accepted.  My task will be a success.  If his boon is not fulfilled, there is no loss to me anyways.  Why should I speak harsh words and plant poison?  I will speak sweetly to win him over.”  Babar folded his hands and spoke sweet words of his wishes: “I have come to your feet.  Fulfill my wish.  I have heard that you are the greatest Peer of Hind.  I’m come to you from Kabul with humility.  Whatever I have heard about you, I have seen it.  You are the Peer of Peers.  Seeing you, my mind has faith.  As I heard of you, you are just like that.  You are the Peer of Peers; this I can see.  Whatever Daulat Khan said about you, I have seen it.  I have heard that the Pathaan Badshah killed your Sikhs (the sons of Daulat Khan).  You are upset at the Pathaans.  You wish to take the kingdom of the Pathaans.  You wanted to call the Mughals.  You know everything.  I came by your calling.  Ask Daulat Khan, he brought me here by your words.  It is your honour by which you called me.  Make me sit on the Takhat of Delhi.  Give me the 22 Soobas of Hindustan.  I have this wish.  I wish for you to be my Peer.  Give me the Takhat and the 22 Soobas of Hindustan.”  Baba ji said to Babar: “but you wanted the kingdom from your Paikamber?!”  Babar said: “the Paikamber is really far away from me.  I can’t reach him.  Paikamber lives in the Great Court of Khuddah, atop of the seventh sky.  How can I reach there?  My words can’t reach his ears.”  Satguru ji said: “you call yourself the Badshah.  You say that you are half of the Khuddah.  You have the 5 Peers of miracles.  Tell your Peers to take you to the Paikamber.  If you can’t, I will send you to the Paikamber’s home.  You can get the kingdom from him.  You will go to the court and see him.  He will get you the kingdom written from the true court.”  Babar held Guru ji’s feet and said: “if you will have me see the Paikamber, Khuddah will write the kingdom of Hind for me right away.”  Satguru ji said: “take my Asa (staff).  It will take you to the doors of the Great Court.”  Guru ji gave his staff to Babar.  He gave Babar instructions: “sit on the ground.  Light Dhoop and a Diva.  Put the staff to your forehead.  It will take you where you wish to go.  Say the chant of Satnam as you go.  You will go wherever you wish.  You can see the Paikamber.  You can go to the Great Court.  Nobody will stop you.  Where your Paikamber has only gone once, you can go there many times with my staff.  Your Paikamber was back from the Great Court before his locks stopped moving.  You can stay as long as you want.  You can stay for 2 hours if you wish to.  You can speak to the Paikamber many times.  You will stay in the Great Court for 2 hours.  Ask for whatever you wish.”  Babar bowed and got up.  He was amazed with Guru ji’s power, as he was going to see the Prophet.  He took the staff.  He did what Guru ji told him to do.  He took the Asa and set off towards the Great Court.

Babar did as he was told.  As he held the Asa, he flew up to the 7th sky (as was his ideology).  He came to the Great Court of Khuddah.  There were locks on the gates of the Great Court.  The Paikamber was outside of the Great Court as he was not authorized to go in.  When Babar said: “Satnam,” the locks on the gates opened right away.  Inside, he saw the flags of Guru Nanak Dev ji flying everywhere.  Sikhs were reciting Bani with Pothis opened.  Rababs were played and Raags were sung (this is how Sach Khand is that Guru Nanak Dev ji modeled the Guru’s Darbar as).  The Bhagats were drenched in the colour of Bhagti, as they did continuous Bhagti.  Babar saw the Royal Flags of Guru Nanak Dev ji.  He was amazed to see the flags of Guru Nanak Dev ji in front of him.  He saw white and blue flags.  The third colour of flags were Kesri, which were like lightening.  He saw the Dharamsala of the Satguru within Sach Khand.  Saints and Sadhoos sat there in Dheras.  Some were great kings and some were great saints.  They were carefree.  Only Bhagti was accepted in that Great Court.  Ridhis and Siddhis were standing with their hands folded.  The Kalapbrish, Mandhaar, Sandalwood, Har Chandan, Parijat and Santaan trees were there.  Other trees were there as well.  Kamdhenu, the cow, was there.  Trees were full of fruits.  The walls were made of Chintamanis. The walls were made of gold and fragrances.  The pillars were made of the Badooraj gems.  The ceiling was made of sandalwood.  The doors were made of opal.  The craftsmanship on the walls was made with the Paaras.  Babar was given a tour as he had Guru Nanak Dev ji’s staff in his hand.  Babar was brought back to the gates to see the Paikamber.  Where the Prophet was, he saw a Mullah give a Bhaang for the call to prayer.  He saw the Paikamber’s flag there.  It was green.  He saw the Mosque of the Paikamber which was made by the Islamic tradition.  Babar saw the Prophet standing there.  Sometimes he would stand and sometimes we would bow.  The Rasool was reciting the Nimaaz.  He was doing the Bandagi to be accepted into the Court of Khuddah.  Behind him, the 4 Yaars were standing, doing the Nimaaz.  Behind them were thousands of Peers.  Babar was made to stand behind them.  The Asa of Guru Nanak Dev ji was sensed by the Prophet, seeing it as the Great Power of Khuddah.  The Paikamber called Babar, sensing the staff.  He asked him: “for what reason have you come to me?”  Babar said: “I wish for the Kingdom of the Hind Takhat along with its 22 Soobas.”  The Paikamber shook his head and said: “I don’t have the kingdom of Hind in my will.  Guru Nanak Dev ji has that kingdom.  Don’t have that hope from me.  If Guru Nanak Dev ji gives it to you, it’s up to him.  I have nothing under me now.  You will need to get it from him by making him happy.  By the power of whose staff you have come here, take the kingdom from him by making him happy.  Hindustan is not with me.  I have Khurasan with me.  I gave that to Timurlang.  His generations have it all.  They won’t give it to you now.”  The Prophet and Babar had a lot of conversations.  The Rasool declined his requests.

Babar was upset and returned.  He took the Asa and came back.  His hope was dead.  The spine of his hope was broken.  He came to his Dhera with depression.  He came back with regret.  He thought to himself: “the Vizier was wise.  He mentioned that Guru Nanak Dev ji was the Great Peer of Hind.  If I go back to Kabul now, I will see a big blow.  I will lose if I go ahead.  It is like a snake holding the lizard.”  Babar’s body was trembling.  He had a lot of doubt in his mind.  He thought to himself: “the Paikamber refused my request and sent me to the Hindu Peer.  Where should I go now?  To whom should I bow to?  My boat is stuck in the middle of the ocean.  The Prophet pushed me away.  I won’t be saved without a ferryman.  I am stuck in a bad flow.”  He was upset.  Sometimes he was in doubt and sometimes he was fine.  He finally had hope: “the Prophet told me to go to the Peer of Hind.  I will fall to the feet of Guru Nanak Dev ji.  He is the Peer of Peers.  Nobody else can give the hope now.  He will take my boat to the shore.”  He called Daulat Khan and said to him: “you brought me here and made me stuck.  I am stuck in a whirlpool.  Tell the Satguru to take me across.”

Daulat Khan went with Babar to see Guru ji.  They grabbed Guru ji’s feet and folded their hands.  Babar said: “I am the servant of your servants.  Fulfill my wish.”  Babar said what he saw in the Great Court.  Satguru ji laughed and went quiet.  He was omniscient.  He knew everything.  Babar then said: “nobody knows your secrets.  You are the relative of Khuddah.  You know Khuddah.  You are Khuddah or are his son.  Khuddah is not separate from you.  Whatever happens is under your will.  You are the sustainer.  You command the universe.  There is no end to you.  You are the Karta, the doer and the merciful one.  You are Khuddah.  You are the Paikamber and you are the one that shows them the way.  Your power cannot be quantified.  I was sold to you by Daulat Khan.  You can do as you wish as it is your honour on the line.”  Satguru ji heard this and became filled with compassion.  Guru ji asked for the gift that Babar brought.  The bag filled of cannabis was brought.  Guru ji said: “put fistfulls of cannabis into my lap.”  Babar put 7 fistfulls in Guru ji’s lap.  Babar then flapped the rest of the bag into Guru ji’s lap.  Satguru ji gave him 7 generations of rule.  Babar, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Aurangzeb and Bahadhur Shah were the solid rulers.  The small amounts of cannabis flapped were the smaller kings that ruled.  Farrukhsiyar, Rangeela and others had limited rules.  Guru ji said: “I give you 7 generations of rule.  I will take it back from you after.”  Guru ji gave kingdom for inexpensive cannabis.  This was the carefree attitude of the Satguru.  Just as Bhasmantar was given the boon by Shiv’s carefree attitude, in the same way Guru ji gave Babar the kingdom.  When Satguru ji said: “I give you all of Hind for the cannabis but will take it back,” he said: “listen Babar Sultan, when you will be no more, I will take it back with force.”  Babar heard the Satguru and said: “to give something and then taking it back is like spitting and licking it again.  If you take back after giving, you will be slandered.”  Satguru ji said: “to take back after giving is one thing; to receive something for free and not appreciating it, one takes it back.  Mansoor received something for free, he couldn’t keep it.  It took his life.  To get something for free is like trying to keep Kapoor.  If it gets fire, it evaporates.”  The Satguru continued: “you will forget the blessings I give you one day.  You will cut the heads of my generations and then we will take back what we loaned to you.”  Babar heard this and folded his hands.  He said: “how will my family cut your heads?  We will claim to be the Mureeds of your home.  How will my family lift our hands upon you?  The kingdom of Hindustan is with the Hindu Peer (what the Rasool told me).  You are the head Peer of Peers.  You will bless us with kingdoms.  How can we appose you?  If we lift our hands upon you, you can surely take the kingdom from us.  By this promise, please give us the kingdom.”  By this promise, Guru Nanak Dev ji gave Babar the kingdom of Hind.

For 3 Badshahs, they did not forget the blessings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.  After Babar it was Humayun.  After Humayun it was Akbar born.  The three of them kept the praise of the Guru.  They did not say anything in opposition towards the Gurus.  The fourth Shah was Jahangir.  The Mullahs and Qazis forced the Shariya upon him.  Jahangir was influenced by them.  He sinned against Guru Arjan Dev ji.  He took the charge of the sin and put it upon the head of the Khatri, Chandoo.  The fifth was Shah Jahan.  He made many Hindus into Muslims.  The Sixth Shah was Nauranga (Aurangzeb).  He fought a huge conflict with the Gurus.  He called the child Guru, Guru Har Krishan ji to Delhi.  Satguru ji held Aurangzeb as guilty by leaving his body.  Aurangzeb sinned against Guru Tegh Bahadhur Sahib ji and Guru Tegh Bahadhur Sahib ji’s 4 grandsons (the 4 Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh ji).  Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji decided: “only one Shah remains.  We should give our heads and finish their Raaj.”  Satguru ji thought about this and did exactly that.  In this way, the 7 Badshahs were spent out.  In this way, Satguru ji endured pain for his words.  By his words, he was sold.  The generations continued the words.  The Mughals didn’t carry on with their promise.  They took the kingdom but forgot their promise.  The Mughals said: “we are powerful ourselves!  We will destroy the Hindus.  The Paikamber is close to the Khuddah.  The Hindus can’t go to the Great Court.”  In this way, the Mughals changed their views.  They followed the Mullahs and Qazis and forgot their promises.

Part 30 Other Prasangs

Bhai Taru Singh ji spoke to the Sikhs: “in this way, the Singhs took pain upon their heads.”  Bhai Taru Singh ji was taken to Lahore in the morning, the second day.  The Sikhs gave money to the Ahdeeyas and had Bibi Taro released.  The Satsangat folded their hands and said: “your Sikhi will remain by the will of the Satguru.”  The Sikh Sangat did the Ardaas for Bhai Taru Singh ji that his Sikhi will remain solid by his Kes and his breath.  The Ahdeeyas came to Lahore with Bhai Taru Singh ji and surrendered him to the jail in Lahore.  He stayed there for many days.  The Sadh Sangat would come to do his Darshan as he was a great saint.  As the Turks tortured Bhai Taru Singh ji, the more he was drenched red in love.  Bhai Taru Singh ji did not eat or drink.  The Santokh became determined within his body.  He no longer had the will to keep his life.  He had no worry of death.  Sat, Santokh and patience was steady in his mind.  He lived by the will of the Guru upon his head.  The mind that fears the Guru, no longer fears the Jumms.  Whoever holds the torch, what can the darkness do to them?
