About Me

Ik Oankaar Sri Vahiguru ji ki Fateh. Sri Akaal Ji Sahai. Sri Bhagauti ji Sahai.

Vahiguru ji ka Khalsa Vahiguru ji ki Fateh.

My name is Jaswinder Singh Sehmbi. From a young age, I was deeply inspired to pursue spiritual knowledge because of Baba Inderjit Singh ji. His influence set me on a lifelong journey of learning, seva, and connection to Sikhi.

Between 1991 and 1996, I was blessed with the sangat of Baba Inderjit Singh ji at Scarborough Gurdwara, where my spiritual grounding truly deepened. Alongside this, I cultivated my love for traditional music, learning Tabla and Pakhawaj under the guidance of renowned teachers: Ustaad Giani Gurcharan Singh ji (Singapore wale), Ustaad Mohan Singh ji (Dahaley), and Ustaad Jasmeet Singh ji Chana.

Academically, I pursued my degree at the University of Toronto, majoring in Biology with minors in Economics, Sociology, and Religious Studies. Today, I work in the finance field. Also part of my formal education, I am continuing my spiritual journey with the same passion that inspired me as a child.

Over the years, I have studied Gurbani Santhya from Singh Sahib Giani Pritpal Singh ji (Head Granthi Gurduara Dukh Nawaran Sahib P 9) and Ustaad Kharak Singh ji (a student of Giani Gurwinder Singh ji Nangli). I also trained in Shastar Vidya with Bhai Daya Singh ji (student of Baba Soorta Singh ji Rishikesh, Buddha Dal). My deepest spiritual learning, however, has been in Brahm Vidya, which I continue to study under the guidance of Sant Giani Sher Singh ji (Ambala).

It was through the direction of Sant Giani Sher Singh ji that I undertook the seva of writing English translations of the Sri Gurpartap Sooraj Prakash Granth, presenting it in a way that connects with the modern reader. This ongoing effort has grown into what I call the Gurupurshotam Project — a lifelong commitment to sharing the timeless wisdom of Gurbani and Sikh history with seekers around the world.

Jaswinder Singh.
