9-51 Described What was Eaten/ The Fruits of the 6 Ruts/ Fire and the Garden

One day the son of Sri Guru Har Rai ji came to the court.  He was respected by Nauranga and seated on his stool.  The Shah said: “what I ate today, tell the whole court.  Tell them which types of meat I ate along with other things.  This is not a big thing for you.  You know all three time periods.  Tell them what I ate today.  Tell everyone.”  Baba Ram Rai ji heard this and told everyone what the Badshah ate: “you ate 5 types of meats today.  You ate 3 types of rice.  You ate 4 types of fruits.”  He spoke of other things along with how many times he drank water.  He also said what the Shah said while eating.  He told the names of the cooks and servants at that time.  The ones who placed the placed in front of the Shah, he spoke of them.  He mentioned the number of dishes and what they were made of.  Whatever was eaten in less quantity, that was mentioned.  He also mentioned how many morsels of food he ate.  As he spoke all this, the Shah was amazed as well as the people sitting there.  They thought: “it’s like he was sitting there and counting everything.  He said everything as it happened.  His powers cannot be quantified.”

Nauranga was happy hearing all this.  They talked about the fruits he ate.  The people in the court spoke: “which fruits are better?”  They all spoke about their favourite fruits.  They mentioned the fruits of the 6 Ruts (seasons).  The mentioned the different tastes and qualities.  The Shah smiled and said: “listen, oh powerful son of the Guru, I haven’t seen anyone like you.  You can do as you please.  I have a wish which I will state: the fruits of the 6 Ruts, fruits and bunches, show them all to me at one time.  Let me eat them all at one time.”  Baba Ram Rai ji said: “I can do that for you.”  Baba Ram Rai ji used his powers to present all of the fruits from the 6 Ruts.  Baskets of apples, grapes, mangoes, almonds, pistachios, and other fruits were in front of the Badshah.  He was really happy to see them.  Jamuns, Khirnis, Dates, figs, peaches, apricots, plums, kathal, bhathals, apples, pomegranates, melons, watermelons, chwaras, oranges, mangoes, lemons, bananas, grapes of many colours, coconuts, pears, zardaloos, almonds, dhaks, other dry fruit, berries, watermelons, batanks, sarday, sour falsas, zimikhand, fresh, kandbidari; many types of fruits were in front of the Shah.  The Shah was really happy.  As the fruits piled up, the Shah was amazed.  He was overwhelmed at seeing the different fruits, that weren’t available during the time.  Many fruits were there.  His intellect was lost.  He thought: “how is he doing this?  They are from foreign lands.  They are available only in different seasons.”  Seeing the fruits, he praised Baba Ram Rai ji.  The Shah ate the fruits.  They were delicious to eat.  He praised the fruits.  He never had such tasty fruits before.  The fruits from his gardens weren’t as tasty as these fruits were.  They were sweet, sour and delicious.  The Shah never had such good fruit.  He ate with joy.  The Shah gave the fruits to the people in the court.  They all ate with joy.  They couldn’t figure out how.  The Shah spoke with amazement: “where is this garden from where you got these fruits from, all at once?  I ate the fruits of 6 seasons in one day.  I want to see this garden.  They are sour and sweet.  Where are the plants.  I want to get the roots and plant them in my garden so we can have these fruits all the time.  If it is far, I can send people.  Please get me the seeds and saplings for these fruits.  The most delicious ones, I will plant them in my gardens.  I will eat them everyday.”  Baba Ram Rai ji heard this and said: “if you want to see this garden, I can show you.  You can’t get the seeds or the saplings though.  You can eat the fruit only.  This is the garden of the Satguru which is in Sach Khand.  Nobody else has the authority.  These amazing fruits that you ate today and saw, nobody else can plant such a garden other than the Satguru.  Get ready!  See with your eyes!”  After saying this, he looked up and made the Shah look up as well.  They first saw fire.  The Shah and the whole court looked up.  They saw the fire and went quiet.  The fire went on for about a kilometre.  Above that was a beautiful garden.  Many types of flowers of different colours were there.  Trees of many kinds with green leaves, they saw.  The trees had ripe fruits on them.  Bunches of fruits were there.  There were yellow and red fruits.  The trees were in lines.  There was fire below it.  This amazing view was seen.  There were Tulsi plants, mangoes blossoming, which was pleasant to see.  The smell was amazing.  All of the species of fruits were there.  They couldn’t be counted.  The Shah was happy to see this.  The Shah said: “you show us amazing things everyday.  There is fire below the garden.  It doesn’t burn or wilt the plants.  There are many ripe fruits.  They are beautiful.  You showed this to us.  Who can count them all?  Baba ji your ways are amazing.”  Everyone praised Baba Ram Rai ji: “he is the highest.  The Peer of peers.”  They all saw the garden for a few hours.  The fire was bright.  After a while, they could no longer see the garden.  They all talked about this amazing miracle.

The whole city talked about the miracles of the Guru’s son.  People met each other and spread his glories: “who else can do such an impossible thing?  He shows new things everyday.”  The faith of the people got deeper.  People brought gifts and money to Baba Ram Rai ji and did his Darshan.  People took the Charanpahul and became Sikhs.  They brought money and gifts.  There was always a crowd at the Dhera to meet Baba Ram Rai ji.  Baba Ram Rai ji completed the wishes of the people.  Many days passed in Delhi.  Kavi Santokh Singh ji says: “staying there, he showed many miracles.”

9-52 The Cool Wind/ Samadhi/ Giving the Dariya Horse

The son of the Satguru was sitting in the court of Aurangzeb one day.  It was the month of Jeth (May/June).  The wind was very hot.  The temperatures were really warm.  The clothes, jewellery, home, the mirror palaces of many colours; all these were really hot.  There was no relief from any side.  The earth and sky were both hot.  It was like there were fires burning everywhere.  Nauranga spoke in his court: “the heat is burning the people.  Oh son of the Guru, speak the words and make the heat go away.  Make it cool.  Make cool wind flow in the court so people are in peace.  Everyone is anxious.  The heat is burning the body.  Make cold wind flow so everyone is happy.  Make the heat go away.”  Baba Ram Rai ji said: “it will be cold as you wish.  Three types of wind will come as in Basant.  It will cool everyone down and make them happy.  The heat will go away.  As darkness goes away with the sun, the wind will destroy the heat.”  The wind began to flow as it flows in Basant.  One wind was fragrant.  Another was slow.  Another was cold.  This was never seen before.  It made everyone feel nice as it flowed over everyone.  Everyone was happy in the court.  Everyone was amazed with the wind flowing.  The cool wind flowed till evening.  Everyone felt the slow, fragrant and cold wind in Delhi.  Everyone was happy.  The Shah was really happy.

One day, the court was in session.  Baba Ram Rai ji was there.  The discussions of Samadhi were spoken about: “the breath settles in the Dasam Duar.  The awareness of the body goes away.”  In this way, the Ulamas spoke: “the Jogis know how to do the Samadhi.  There are 8 Angs which must be practiced, then the Samadhi is achieved (Yam, Niyam, Aasan, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyaan and Samadhi).  The breath instills in the Dasam Duar.  The bliss of Jog is then achieved.  The person can live a long life and become Chiranjeev.  Gorakh Nath started this difficult Panth.  He made great Kings as his disciples.  He taught them the Path of Yog.  They made their bodies live for a long time.  This is not found anywhere else.  Yog is only found in the Panth of Gorakh Nath.”  The Shah heard this and said: “listen son of the Guru, do you know about Yog?  Do you know how to do the Samadhi in your Panth, or not?  You have many other virtues.”  Baba Ram Rai ji heard this and said: “our Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji can do as he wishes.  He has been doing as he wished.  We have been doing Sahij Samadhis which is done all the time.  Our attention is always focused in the Akaal Purakh.  This is the easier way.  Everything is available in the home of the Satguru.  The radiance of Bhagti and Gyaan is the highest.  (Patanjali explains Jog as to collect and connect.  Jog is to detach from the senses like a turtle and connect with the Aatma) The Bhagti is the highest.  Whoever is determined, they achieve Brahmgyaan.  In the Guru’s home, the Sahij Jog is the Samadhi which is done all the time.  The Sadhoos can do what they wish to.  Samadhi can be done but it is not the most important act.  The Brahmgyaan comes when that Samadhi is done.”  The Ulamas said: “we can’t believe this.  Without controlling the wind breath, one can’t go into the Samadhi and experience the pleasure.  This is extremely hard.  It’s not easy.  Without practice, it’s hard to do this.”  Nauranga heard this and said: “Baba ji, is this true?  Is it that difficult to do a Samadhi?  If you can control your Pranas, show me your Samadhi.  Everyone will believe you that the Guru has this power.  Otherwise we can’t believe it.”  Baba Ram Rai ji said: “if this be your wish, give me a place to sit which is clean.  Nobody should be able to come there.  Till I am in Samadhi, a guard should stand at the door.  Nobody should speak or make a sound.  I need to be in solitude.  I need to focus.”

Nauranga had a beautiful room made.  The room was clean and guarded.  An Asan was laid.  Baba Ram Rai ji closed his eyes and sat in the Pavan Asan.  He focused his attention and instilled his breath into the Dasam Duar.  He went into Samadhi.  His body did not move.  The Ulamas all saw this form a distance.  Nauranga was amazed and happy seeing this.  Baba Ram Rai ji sat in Samadhi for 5 days.  He sat in Samadhi, experiencing the pleasure of Jog.  The enemies saw this and were jealous.  The friends were happy to see this.  On the 6th day, Baba Ram Rai ji opened his eyes.  He came out of the room and came back to his Dhera.  The fools were embarrassed.

One day, Nauranga mounted his horse and met Baba Ram Rai ji.  They both decided to go riding without many people.  They rode their horses fast.  Their discussion was intriguing and they lost awareness of how far they rode out.  They rode along the shores of the Jumana.  They saw a beautiful place.  The Shah made his horse run fast like the wind.  The horse was strong.  It got faster.  The Shah tried to turn it but the horse didn’t obey.  The Shah tried stopping the horse but failed.  The Badshah lost control.  He pulled the reins.  He came to the waters of the Jumana.  The horse went into the river.  The Shah couldn’t stop him.  The Shah couldn’t control him.  The horse went into the river and then stopped.  The Shah’s clothes and weapons were wet.  The saddle was expensive which was wet.  The Badshah came out with the horse and came to Baba Ram Rai ji.  The Shah was amazed: “Khuddah saved me today.  Otherwise I could have gone to the deep area and drowned.  I stopped the horse with all my strength.  The horse got scared when it entered the water.  Everything is wet.  I have never been so scared before.  I am not afraid of anything else, but I was in doubt, going into the water.  Please do me a favour so that I may never fear water again.  Give me a horse which will be like a gem and that can swim in the water, and I may never get wet.  The horse would never get wet.  Make me such a horse.  This is not difficult for you.  I want such a horse.  You can say it.  This is my wish.  I know you can do as you wish.  I’ve seen you many times.”  Baba Ram Rai ji heard this and was happy.  He said: “if this is the faith you have, you will get such a Dariya horse which will be able to go into the water.  Water won’t be able to touch it.  It will be a strong horse from the dimension of Varun Dev.  It will come out of the water right now.  Come out!  Come out and let the Shah ride you.”  When Baba Ram Rai ji said this, a horse came out of the water.  Everyone saw this.  It was white and really beautiful.  It was really strong.  From its toes to its head, it was solid.  The saddle was made with gems.  It was clever and danced.  The Shah was really happy to see the horse.  He had never seen such a horse.  He grabbed the reins and mounted it.  He praised the son of the Guru: “the horse came out of the water!  You gave it to me with your words.”  The Badshah came to his court and praised Baba Ram Rai ji.  Everyone was amazed to hear this: “he does amazing things.  He has the most power.”

9-53 The Ground Raising/ Taking out the Pages from under the Sheet

The Maulanas who followed the Shariya, came together and decided: “a Hindu sits in a higher place, having a lot of pride.  This is not good.”  The Ulamas, Maulanas and Qazis got together and were upset, seeing the glory of Baba Ram Rai ji.  They were fools.  They couldn’t compare to him.  Baba Ram Rai ji’s praises spread throughout the world.  Everyone bowed to him.  The fools followed the Shariya and had no other knowledge of spirituality, saints or society.  They got together to speak to the Badshah.  They discussed of what to say: “we will say: why do you not follow the Shariya.  The Muslims stand in your court with respect.  They stand with their hands folded.  They sit in a lower area or they stand.  A proud Hindu comes into the court and you make him sit in a high place.  He does not read the Kalima nor does he follow the Deen.  He follows his own religion and says it’s higher.  You have messed up the Shariya.”  They all decided and then spoke of other things.  They then spoke what they decided to the Shah: “listen Shah, you are wise.  The ideology of the Hindus is opposed to the Shariya.  You respect the Hindu, whom dealing with, is a sin.  You respect him and have faith in him.  We are your fields.  You are the farmer.  You must take care of Islam in Hindustan.  The farm of Islam has the boundary of Shariya.  You must make the boundary strong.  If you don’t take care of it, the Deen will spoil.  People won’t care about the Shariya.  You got distracted, it seems.  If you don’t take care of this, Islam will not last in this land.  How will we spread it to other lands?  This is the court of Muslims.  A Hindu comes with pride.  He doesn’t bow to you.  You make him sit in a higher place.  Your love for him grows everyday.  This is bad.  Think about this.  Don’t spoil the boundary of the Shariya.  The Muslims all discuss this.  Nobody likes what you are doing.”  The Shah heard this and said: “I have tested him.  He is really powerful.  The most impossible things, he has done.  He shows his power.  He doesn’t delay.  It’s because of his power that he shows, he sits in the highest position.  He can’t be stopped by anyone.  He is young but he is very powerful.  His glory overshadows everyone.  People bow to him and become his Sikhs.  He speaks of past and future.”  The Turks said to the Badshah: “we don’t see him as equals to Turks.  Even though he shows thousands of miracles, why should we have faith in him?  We are strict in the Shariya.  We will stay steady in our ideology.  You talk about his powers, don’t lay out his stool today.  He will sit among others today.  He can stand like others, otherwise.  Don’t become a sinner towards the Shariya.  You will be praised by the Muslims.”  They spoke to Nauranga in this way.  They wanted to break the Shah’s faith.

That day, the court was in session.  There was no stool for Baba Ram Rai ji.  Baba Ram Rai ji arrived in the court, seeing his time to come.  He saw the corruption in the court that day.  The fools had conspired to influence the Shah.  Baba ji knew by his power of what had happened.  The unwise had only laid out a sheet.  Baba Ram Rai ji made the ground rise up to the level he usually sat.  It was the same height as the stool.  He was higher than everyone else.  He sat down on his seat.  He sat just as he did before.  He sat higher than the court.  The Badshah took a handkerchief and covered his mouth while he laughed.  His faith was deeper.  He wondered what the Qazis were going to say now.  Who could make Baba Ram Rai ji sit lower?  The ground was raised high.  Baba Ram Rai ji sat highest in the court.  He used his power to press the whole court.  Everyone was surprised and wondered how the ground came up.  The whole court was amazed.  Baba Ram Rai ji sat higher.  The enemies were embarrassed seeing this.  Nauranga respected Baba ji and didn’t conspire anymore.  The court was adjourned.  Everyone went home.

The next day, the Qazis and Maulanas came to the court.  The Shah said: “Baba Ram Rai ji is stronger than you.  Who can defeat him?  He is omniscient.  He knows our secrets.  He can do the impossible.”  The Shariya followers said: “there is one way that will make his powers go away.  The Guru Granth Sahib ji of theirs, that is their highest Guru.  We should take the grinded pages of their Guru Granth Sahib ji and put them on his stool.  We will cover it with a sheet.  When he sits on the stool, he would have done a sin.  He will lose his powers in this way.  He will sit on top of his Guru Granth Sahib ji.  When he does this, we will all laugh.”  They gave this idea to the Shah.

They had a Pothi of Guru Granth Sahib ji called for.  They ripped the pages and grinded them.  The pages were then placed on the stool.  They deceivingly covered the stool with a sheet so Baba Ram Rai ji wouldn’t know.  The court was then in session.  The Umraavs got together.  They all stood in the court.  Baba Ram Rai ji arrived.  He got off his palanquin and came into the court.  He remained standing though.  He sensed the corruption and said: “you have done the most corrupt thing ever, today.  You took the name of the Parmeshwar and put it under the sheet.  The creator and sustainer of the world, Satnam is the highest.  Guru Granth Sahib ji is the Parmeshwar.  This is what our Satguru ji has said.  The glory of the Naam is in Guru Granth Sahib ji.  Guru Granth Sahib ji is our Guru.  You have sinned.  We respect Gurbani.  You ripped the pages of Gurbani and broke the spine.  You put it under the sheet of my seat.  You have done a really bad and unthinkable thing.  You are still testing me?”  Baba Ram Rai ji picked up the pages of Gurbani.  He bowed to them and put them on his head.  The fools were amazed.  The fools failed.  They said: “how did he know without being told?  We can’t cheat him.  He knows what we plan about him.”  Discussions happened in the court.  Baba ji replied to the questions and amazed everyone by his knowledge.  Everyone got up from the court and went home.  Baba Ram Rai ji got up and went to his Dhera.  The Turks discussed the occurrence with others.  Kavi Santokh Singh ji says: “the white glory of the son of the Satguru spread in the city, to every home.”

9-54 Opening the Locks on the Doors/ Meat and Alcohol

The Qazis influenced the Badshah again: “if such a powerful person becomes a Turk in some way, the Deen will grow.  The religion that has such a person, people would see that and adapt to that religion.  People would follow that religion with devotion.  The Deen would grow in this way.  He can make the Deen grow.  Why don’t you make this effort?  He alone can make the whole world into Muslim.  He will show others his powers and make people devoted to Islam.  People will be amazed seeing his powers.  They will all bow to his feet.  Whatever he teaches to all, they will all follow him.  People do follow him.  Use deceit to convert him into becoming a Turk.  You will get rewards as you wish.  If he comes into the Shariya, the Deen will spread by reading the Kalima.”  The Badshah became greedy, hearing this.  He said: “lets do something so he becomes a Muslim.  It will be easy to make everyone else Muslim.  Let’s hold court tonight.  We will make him late so he sleeps overnight.  We will give him our food which he will have to eat.  Make him leave his Dharma.”  The Shah said to the guards of the gates: “keep the son of the Guru inside the palace and lock the doors.  When he comes outside, don’t open the front gate.  Tell him that the keys are now with the Badshah and the door can’t be opened.  Don’t say anything after that.  There is no other way to leave.  He will have to stay overnight.  Speak to him with respect though.  Don’t say anything after that.  He will stay inside.”  Nauranga made this plan with his guards.  He did this under the influence of the foolish Maulanas.

The court was in session at night.  Everyone came to the court in the night.  Baba Ram Rai ji came as well.  His radiance overshadowed the Turks.  He got off his palanquin and came into the Diwan-e-Khaas.  He saw the Badshah.  The Shah gave him respect and had him seated on the highest stool.  Many types of discussions happened.  The Shah spoke with everyone.  He listened as well.  The court went well into the night.  They had already planned this.  The people slowly started to leave.  The senior Umraavs left.  The Shah kept speaking to Baba Ram Rai ji.  He purposely spent more time with him to keep him busy and delay his stay.  He gave the others time to leave.  Only the Shah and Baba Ram Rai ji remained.  The rest had left.  The front gates were shut and locked.  The big and small doors were all shut.  They were locked with thick chains and locks.  The Shah kept Baba ji for another half hour.  He had deceit in his mind.  The Shah took leave to go to sleep.  He went to his room.  The Qazis and Mullahs had left.  Baba Ram Rai ji got into his palanquin and was ready to go to his Dhera.  When he came to the front gate, the gate was locked.  Baba Ram Rai ji said to the guards: “why did you keep me inside?  You should have closed the gate after.  Open the lock so I can go home.  You can close it again.”  The guard yelled from the gate tower: “we don’t have the key, Baba ji.  The key keeper has taken the keys to the Badshah.  After locking the doors, the keys go to the Shah.  They will only come in the morning.  There is no other way out now.  You can spend the night inside the fort.  There is no way to open the door tonight.  Where the keys are now, it is a secret place.”  After the guard said this, Baba Ram Rai ji understood the deceitful plan.  “The fools still do not understand,” he thought.  “They made everyone else leave and kept me here on purpose.”  Baba Ram Rai ji said: “the locks will open by themselves along with the doors.  I can go to my Dhera with ease.  May the doors all fully open.”  After saying that, he said to his servants: “let’s go!  Take the palanquin ahead.”  As they came towards the door, the locks opened up and the chains fell.  The gates all opened.  Baba ji left the fort in this way.  Everyone was amazed to see this.

The news reached the Shah: “this was an amazing thing.  We don’t understand how the doors opened.  The chains and locks opened by themselves.  The son of the Guru left with no problem.  What is your command now?”  The Shah was amazed and impressed at the same time.  The Badshah hadn’t gone into his room yet.  He was waiting for Baba Ram Rai ji’s news.  He thought: “he is too powerful.  He can’t be stopped.”  The Shah said to the guards: “don’t say anything.  Let him go.  Lock the doors as you did before.  Keep guard.”

Baba Ram Rai ji came back to his Dhera and laid on his bed.  He failed the plan of the Turks.  In the morning, the Shah called the Ulamas and said: “he didn’t stay.  He went back to his Dhera.  He opened the locks and chains with his powers.”  The Ulamas said to the Shah: “we are shocked!  If he doesn’t agree then let’s go to see his ways.  Let’s see what he eats.”  The Shah heard this and said: “I will go and see what he eats.  Keep a spy there for updates.  He will give us news of the food.”  The Maulanas did what the Shah said.  They sent a spy to Majnu Da Tilla.

When Baba Ram Rai ji was going to eat his food, the spy saw this and came back.  He said to the Shah and the Ulamas: “came and see him now!  The one who calls himself really powerful, does bad things in secret.  He calls himself a Dervish and shows that he does Bandagi.”  After having this discussion, they all came to Baba Ram Rai ji’s Dhera.  The Badshah saw a bottle and said: “what’s in this?  You are dressed like a Dervish but what is this that you do in secret?  I have heard about your ways today.  I can see that you do the opposite things.  Where is your good way of life that saints live by?  You eat food like indulgers.  How do you have powers when your character is not good?”  Baba Ram Rai ji then spoke: “what did you see in the bottle?”  When the Shah lifted the top of the bottle, he saw milk in it.  Everyone was embarrassed after seeing that.  The meat that was seen by the spy had become eggplant.  Everyone was quiet and didn’t say anything.  They were amazed at seeing this.  Baba Ram Rai ji fooled the spy by showing him something else.  Nobody could match him.  The Badshah then spoke about funny things with Baba Ram Rai ji.  They were happy meeting each other.  The Badshah said: “your Satguru ji is Dhan!  Nobody can compare themselves to him.”  Kavi Santokh Singh ji says: “he was really great.”  Amazed at what happened, the Shah and the others came back to the Qila.  There was no way to defeat Baba Ram Rai ji.  The Turks tried and failed.

9-55 The Palanquin Moves without Carriers

The son of the Satguru was happy.  He showed his powers to all.  He proved the foolish-minded ones wrong.  The fools got tired of seeing their attempts fail.  Baba ji remained stronger than all.  The Shah and the others were defeated.  The Turks thought: “how can we defeat him?”  The foolish Maulanas tried to influence the Shah everyday but failed.  The all lost in front of the powers of the Satguru.  There was no one in the 3 Loks who could win the Guru’s home.  The poor Turks were nothing.  The fools wanted to be equal to the Guru.  They fell on their faces, flat.  Guru ji’s command was prevalent in every dimension.  Guru Nanak Dev ji was above all Devatas and Devis.  Everyone was under his command.  As the Guru wished, that is what happened.  In that way, Guru ji gave powers to his Sikhs.  The 14 skies, whatever was created in them, the Sikhs could make it.  They could do what they wanted to.  If Guru ji didn’t want to show his power, he would stay quiet, even having his head cut off.  Sri Satguru ji is the complete Bhagavan.  He is the supreme Akaal Purakh form.  Satguru ji lived on the tongue of his son.  Guru Har Rai ji was the Parmeshwar.  Whatever his son said, happened without delay.  The 3 Loks were under his command.

Baba Ram Rai ji knew in his mind that the Shah’s court was in session.  He called for his palanquin.  The carriers were not there at that time.  They were delayed in coming.  The servants said: “we will call the carriers.”  Baba Ram Rai ji thought to himself: “I will go without the carriers today.  The sinners will be more jealous.  They will burn even more.  The others will be amazed.  The praise of Guru Nanak Dev ji will spread.  Thousands will become Sikhs.  My Sangat will sing praises.”  Baba Ram Rai ji thought about this and boarded his palanquin.  He said: “go without the carriers today.  We will go in a new way today.”  As soon as he said that, the palanquin lifted up by itself and moved.  It was studded with gold and gems.  It was a miracle.  The palanquin moving through the air was seen in Delhi.  It was an amazing thing to see.  The warrior Sikhs were in the front.  The servants were there.  The palanquin was flying through the air.  Everyone saw this and bowed.  They said: “Dhan Sri Satguru ji!”  Everyone shouted Jaikaras.  They were happy to see this.  The palanquin went through the market without carriers.  The people were amazed to see this.  They watched and then followed Baba Ram Rai ji.  The merchants left their shops.  The tradesmen left their trades.  Thousands followed the flying palanquin, carrying Baba Ram Rai ji.  Baba Ram Rai ji wanted to show the other people his powers as only the Shah would see them regularly.  The palanquin moved slowly so everyone could see the awesome powers of Guru Har Rai ji.  Baba Ram Rai ji wore an expensive Chola.  He had a beautiful Dastaar with diamonds and pearl necklaces in his neck.  He was very handsome.  He sat in the palanquin in an Asan.  His eyes were really big, like the lotus petals.  His body was radiant.  His eyes were clear.  His forehead was wide, his nose was sharp, his shoulders were high.  He was radiant.  He was in bliss and smiled.  His hair was black and long.  If was like the moon surrounded by darkness.  His face was like the moon.  His beard was like the darkness.  His body was radiant.  His chest was wide, his arms were long.  His skin was fair and shinned like the gold.  He had a Kalgi with gems on it.  Many servants were with him.  Many Sikhs like Bhai Gurdas ji and Bhai Tara Chand ji were with him.  The Masands and Mevras were with him.  The Sikhs Sangat followed.  There were Chaurs waived on all 4 sides.  The palanquin flew like a majestic swan.  The Soorajmukhis looked radiant in the front.  They looked like the sun.  The fan that was waived had gems.  The palanquin moved towards the Qila.  The Naqeebs made announcements as they travelled in the front.  They sang the praises of all the Gurus.  Many people came to see and bowed with their families.  Everyone folded their hands with devotion.  They stood up as Baba ji rode by.  They bowed their heads with humility.  They all wanted Baba ji see and acknowledge their obeisance.  People were amazed seeing this.  They couldn’t understand how the palanquin was moving without any carriers.  Lakhs of people saw this and spoke to each other: “we’ve never seen anything like this!”  The palanquin moved slowly through the streets of the city.  Hundreds of thousands saw this and called their families and friends to see this.  They all got together to see this.  They all bowed.  The palanquin had strands of diamonds and pearls from it.  They shined from afar.  There was Zarri in it.  When Baba ji felt like it, he made make the palanquin stand so people can come up to him and bow.  People left their work to bow.  Everyone did his Darshan.  The news spread to every house.  They all came and were happy to see this.  They all talked about it.  It was in the middle of the markets.  Thousands made noise in awe.  They said: “the palanquin moves without people.”  Everyone was amazed.  There was a great crowd watching.  There was no place to stand.  The rich and poor all came to see.  The Pandits and the fools came.  The Hindus and Turks came.  For at least one time, everyone was curious to see this.  People stood on their balconies to see this.  They called their family members to watch.  The people were told to move away and make way for the palanquin.  The soldier Sikhs said: “bow and go home.  You have done his Darshan, now go home.  Leave the Path for us to go on ahead.  Baba ji is going.  Do the Darshan with devotion.”  Everyone said “Dhan.”  People couldn’t get enough of seeing Baba ji.  The palanquin had Zarri, diamonds and pearls.  Baba ji moved the strands with his hands to see the Sangat.  He moved the palanquin slowly.

Baba ji finally reached the doors of the Lal Qila.  Thousands were gathered.  Everyone followed.  Someone gave Aurangzeb the news: “the son of the Guru did an amazing thing today.  His palanquin flew and everyone saw him.  There were no carriers holding his palanquin.  All of Delhi saw this.  They all followed him to the Qila.  There are many people coming to see him.”  The Shah was happy to hear this and said: “looks like he will come to me like this.  The whole court will see his miracle, the palanquin without any carriers.”

When Baba ji came, thousands came with him.  The guards of the Qila all stood in attention, fearing the crowds.  They moved everyone back so they couldn’t come into the Qila.  The soldiers of the Shah pushed everyone back.  Only Babaji and his servants were allowed in.  The palanquin came into the Diwan-e-Khaas.  The palanquin flew high.  The Shah and his men saw this miracle in awe.  They said: “his powers have no limit.”  When everyone saw this miracle, the palanquin was set down by Baba ji.  Baba Ram Rai ji came off and came into the court.  He sat on the highest stool.  The Shah asked: “you showed a lot of powers today.  You came without carriers.”  Baba Ram Rai ji said: “when it was my time to come, my carriers weren’t available.  I decided to come like this.  I told the palanquin to bring me here.  With my words, the palanquin brought me to you.  The people of Delhi saw this and came to meet me.  That’s why I was a little late today.”  They both had some discussions in this way.  The Shah sat with Baba ji.

When the court was adjourned, the Shah and the men of the court all stood up.  They all went to their homes.  They talked about the miracle that day.  They were shocked.  They feared that Sikhi was going to grow.

Baba Ram Rai ji came back to his Dhera.  Everyone bowed on the way with their hands folded.  The ones who couldn’t see this miracle, they regretted not seeing him.  Kavi Santokh Singh ji says: “in this way, he showed many miracles.”
